Old traditional property - tired, faded grandeur but some refurbishment scheduled to start in the spring. Staff and location excellent. Room dated but other hotel areas comfortable. Get off bus at Hotel Mae stop. Overall would stay again due to character, grounds and service.
The property is what everyone could desire. Barely 5min walk to the Hakone Yumoto station and bus stops where you can hop on to get around. You will have access to all the restaurants, souvenir shops, convenient stores and you name it. The property also provides everything you would need. Their Onsen ...
Well established Onsen. It is a legit hotel with an entire building. Public onsen is on the 8th floor but we had an open air bath in our room so we did not use. Very nice surroundings, pool and onsen. Not very easy to access and not near other eating placed.
It was amazing. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious.
Clean and comfortable room. Easily accessible especially when you have luggage bags as they have a private elevator to bring guest up to the property when coming from the bus station/train station. Also there have indoor and outdoor onsen to enjoy.
The hospitality and service were above and beyond! Fantastic attendance to care of making me feel at home and bringing my luggage into my room while I was exploring Hakone when I checked in before the room was ready. Highly recommend the tatami-style rooms as the view was spectacular. I had forgotten ...
