I asked the counter staff the night before what time does the first subway train start and he couldn't understand. Had to search the ...

Nice hotel about 15 minutes walk from Osaka Station (to the north) and about 20 minutes walk to the Dotonbori district (to the south). Room a bit small by western standards, but not too much so by Japanese standards.
I loved this hotel! The staff is super friendly, the rooms are modern and comfortable, and you are right across the street from Universal. The hotel is decorated with Minions everywhere and it was very fun to run into them all the time.
Spent 1 night for onsen. Our stay is very nice. There are plenty of things to do, onsen pool sauna stone spa massage restuarant. Wish we had more than 1 day here.
