“Filthiest place, not cleaned, no clean sheets, 4 towels in one bathroom no towels in the other. Dirty towels stuck to the floor behind the bathroom door. Floors were filthy not vacuumed at all in who knows how long. Sticky floors in the kitchen,food stuck to the stove, so awful! Food and dog poop under the beds.And to top it all off.. No batteries in the TV remote. I called and the owners told me they would send cleaning crew they vacuumed 1 room and removed the debris and poop from under bed……

“Our time here was short as we only needed a place to stay after the Knoxville Nationals, but it was just what we needed. Excellent communication from the host. Easy and accommodating check in. The place was spotless and welcoming. If you’re looking a place to stay in the Pella area, I would highly recommend.”

“Short story, what was supposed to be a cheaper one night stay, ended up with a towed car and a towing bill. No mention of parking not being available in the complex in the listing. No mention of parking rules in the check in email. By the time I got clarification, I was already at a concert with my car left behind so I wouldn’t have to worry about looking for parking near the event. The irony doesn’t escape me.”

“We arrived after check in time to find the property not properly cleaned. There were dirty dishes put back in the cabinets, toothpaste in the sink and on the mirror, sheets not on one of the beds and dead bugs on the floor among other things. Requested the unit be cleaned that evening as we were uncomfortable staying there in that condition. The manager called me and said their cleaning crew couldn’t come out and offered to refund the cleaning fee. Found that unacceptable and requested a full……

“Excellent location for east village & downtown Des Moines. Easily walkable. Some construction going on in neighborhood so parking may be an issue. Host responsive.”

“Perfect spot for my needs. I am a retired traveler, and this place had everything I needed. The photos are accurate, the apartment was very clean, and everything worked properly. It is in a great location with plenty of restaurants and nightlife within walking distance (the Thai restaurant in the building was a huge bonus). It is in walking distance of the Capitol Building, the sculpture garden, and Gray's Lake. It is on a major surface road, but there was zero noise in the apartment.……

“Location was good. Looks to be an up-and-coming area. A little bit of a hike, but walkable to downtown. Check-in was easy however there was no parking pass or fob as promised. We had to find street parking. We were told they could drop off a parking pass, but not until the day we were checking out. After the first night, our door code was disabled and we were locked out. Luckily there was quick communication with the host and they were able to remotely reset the code. Blinds on patio door didn’t……
