Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff

Location: The hotel is in the end of the hotel district, very close to downtown Puerto Vallarta. You can walk from the hotel to downtown in about 12-15 minutes
The staff was extremely friendly and exceeded my expectations, remembering names and orders. The room was comfortable and had typical decor for a tropical location; however, not quite like the pictures. The pictures I believe reflect the Sheraton vacation club attached to the hotel. But still nice. The floors weren't swept in my room and I had a clogged sink which was fixed. There is some construction going on at the hotel which depending on where your room is might be noisy but if you are out and about during the day it shouldn't matter. There are several restaurants on site including an buffet that is open most of the day. The food selections are somewhat limited but can vary by day. There are also several gift shops on site as well as an ATM and spa. The spa was very nice, I had a great massage there. The pool has a bar in the middle which is nice and it has a fitness center. The hotel is gated and manned by a security staff person. The area surrounding the hotel is pretty commercial. What I love about this hotel is its closer to the end of hotel area which means downtown is only a 10-15 minute walk away. There are plenty of shops and restaurants downtown to visit. Taxis are on standby at the hotel to take you wherever you want to go.

A budget experience

Location: The location is halfway to everything, but close to nothing.
The food was like school cafeteria meals. The pool lounges were about as comfortable as the pool deck. Wait staff around the pool was non existent. Our room was clean,and the bed was comfortable. But the room really could have used at least one comfortable chair.

Music was a bore

Everything was excellent all servers were polite and attentive. Andreas from the front desk, Hector at the pool bar and Oliver at the outside restaurant were excellent. 5 star service. We stayed here last year and all rooms have been upgraded not that there was anything wrong with them last year. The only complaint I have is there was very few people in the pool area (low season) And the manager in charge of the music by the pool would not let the employees play what the customers wanted. I am not talking about vulgar language music. I am 60 years old more like classic rock. When the kid put the classic rock on people were more lively. As soon as they went back to what the manager wanted them to play people got out of the pool and went and laid down. The manager needs to learn from the staff what taking care of guests is all about. Every employee was excellent except for this stick in the mud.

decent hotel rude and nasty waiters....

Pros: great pool, good location as far as walking to center of town...good food at the mexican restaurant, room service and by the pool...
Cons: waiters are nasty and rude with few exceptions...the manager kept touching and hugging my wife so i called him over and told him off..
Location: no beach.....good central location.....
i booked a trip for myself, wife, 18y daughter and 13y son with flight, hotel and transfers from airport to hotel....transfer company told me they could only take 3 of us as the car expedia booked was for 3 people and i needed an suv because we were 4 people and i had to pay extra...after arguing and showing them itinerary i decided to pay and save my wife who is on a break from chemotherapy lots of aggravation.. checked in to hotel which was almost completely empty, was given a room right next to construction of new pool with loud banging and shirtless workers right outside my glass door....went to the front desk, the lady was very nice about it and moved me to a quiet section (its a huge property which was at the most 20% full so i really didnt appreciate being jerked around)...hotel is old but in good shape and beautiful grounds....the beach is mostly rocks and unusable to me....there was no activities unless u consider holdem or blackjack a pool activity.....food was decent at buffet and good at the mexican restuarnt....sea food restaurant sucks and Italian sucks.....now for the worst part- first dinner we sat at the buffet when the "manager" approached our table said he lived in Los Angeles area for 6 years with lots of small talk and touched my wife few times while talking. then said you guys are happy and the waiters staff needs to be happy as well (referring to tips)..the worst service i have ever seen with nasty face making staff that ruined our vacation.....

Booked Sheraton for the name, was disappointed

Here are the issues Beach is not private. People walk on, it is very dirty, rocky and filled with vendors. There was construction right outside our room. They would not move us, unless we upgraded rooms. Timeshare people did not leave us alone for three days. They even called us at 8am in our room Wifi was supposed to be free, and was not. They wanted us to pay $100 for the week

Perfectly adequate - no frills

Pros: Pool, room service rates, food, friendly staff.
Cons: Free wi-fi in all areas, not just in lobby. Would also be nice to have transportation to and from the airport for guests.
Since the point of a vacation is not staying in the room all the time, I will say that the room was clean and fine for sleeping, showering, etc. The lack of (free) internet access anywhere besides the lobby is pretty disappointing, but can be dealt with. Room service rates are reasonable and the food is actually pretty good. Overall, as a place from which to launch your other adventures in PV, the Sheraton is a good choice.

Agradable, cómodo y bien cuidado hotel

A pesar de haber estado hospedados en temporada alta, se podía disfrutar de todas las instalaciones del hotel, tanto en la plata como los camastros en la alberca, así como en los diferentes restaurantes. Desde el check in & check out, fue rápido y fácil. Muy atento y amable todo el personal y el hotel muy bien ubicado para conocer el centro.

Nice hotel, but was harassed daily

Harassed daily to attend a presentation of the Sheraton Club membership. I went to the presentation the 2nd day of my stay. I did not like being harassed daily...sometimes I was harassed twice a day about the program. Additionally, staff would not allow my two cousins visit my mom, brother, and I in our room. They were two cousins I had not seen in 33 years. This was heartbreaking to me. This would never, ever happen in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were NOT their to stay the night. They were there to drop us off from our family outings to Nayarit and make sure we got to our room safely because my Mother is an elderly woman. I was extremely disappointed. I will never stay with Sheraton again. We did not have enough drinkable water.
