Average hotel and resort needs improvements

Pros: Non-front desk staff are very friendly. The bar-tending team of Leo and Francisco are phenomenal. PC and Dominicana hotel lobbies and pools are great.
Cons: Food needs to be on ice. Food taste is average. Front desk staff too aggressive pushing tours as are external vendors. Guest rooms are old.
Iberostar is a group of hotels on the beautiful Punta Cana beaches. There are four different hotels. Iberostar Punta Cana and Iberostar Dominicana which are grouped together and seem to be 3-stars. Iberostar Bavaro which appears to be four stars and then the Iberostar Grand Hotel which is the five-star property. We stayed at the Punta Cana hotel. The CONS: the food is average but most all inclusive hotels only have average food. They're cooking for the masses across many kitchens, we get it. The cheeses, cold cuts, lox and salads are NOT served on ice. Those foods always look sweaty and there are flies everywhere. This needs to be improved ASAP. The rooms are old. They need an upgrade. The water pressure is average/below average depending on the time of the day. There's an interesting level of security - men with shot guns are around the property's perimeters. What do they know that we don't? There are external trips vendors in the lobby who are all over the place and very aggressive as are the guest relations/front desk staff. PROS: Other staff throughout the resort work hard and are very pleasant. The housekeeping staff is efficient and they clean the rooms well. The beach and pool areas are also well maintained in terms of the removal of glassware and trash. The pool is very nice and the beachfront is beautiful with just about the right number of chairs and umbrellas. OVERALL: It is not a well oiled machine. We would stay somewhere else next time.

Perfect Experience!

Only great things to say about our experience. There was an issue with our room booking and it was not ready when we got there, but Stanly at the front desk took care of everything for us. He gave us our check in packet and wristbands, and sent us to the bar for a few cocktails while we waited. When we got our room, it was very nice and clean. Everything on the resort was very clean, and a short walk to everything. The pool and beach areas were perfect, and the staff were all extremely friendly and lots of fun. We will be back!

Great resort, amazing staff

The staff at this hotel make the trip. This was our 2nd time back in 6 months. The bartenders become like family during your stay. Leo, Francisco, Paulina and Raquel are the best!! Joeley always stops by to check up on you when he sees you in the lobby. Mama Drinkie ( the pool waitress) is on top of your empty drink. The waiters and waitresses in the buffet remember you from day to day and are actually happy to see you. We are already planning our return trip.

Pros: Staff and cleanliness
Cons: Better quality of food. Fresh juicy hamburgers instead of frozen then to the grill.
Location: We did not leave the resort.
Great time. Food could be better. Would like to see more American food on the menu. Drinks were great and Maria at the pool gave us excellent service!

Third trip is the charm!

Pros: What is NOT to like? Two other trips were poor next to this one. Strong WiFi in the room, coffee maker, large room very clean.
Cons: I did get tired of waiting for a bellman to take me to my room so just found it myself. Not a problem as everything is well marked.
Location: Just stayed at the resort, swam, walked on the beach and relaxed. It is a quiet restful place.
Clean rooms, well manicured grounds, friendly staff, good and plenty of food, lots of pool towels and chairs. Highly recommend this hotel

Nice close to beach good for price.

First all inclusive stay so we had some hiccups but now that we know how these work I'm sure our next stay will be better yet!

Cons: Food was served cold. Red snapper was mushy. Beef steaks were wonderful.
Resort staff very friendly and made our stay very relaxing. Food is average - nothing to write home about.

Beautiful hotel and scenery!!

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel staff was amazing! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. We booked a standard room but when we got there our roof started leaking. The staff was there instantly to fix it. The next day the manager upgraded us to an ocean view room and gave us free massages! A lot of the staff do not speak very good English but they are so friendly and try to understand you the best they can.
