"This hotel refused to do anything or make it right from a serious situation. I made two reservations on behalf of my husband who has never been to Buffalo. They solely came from out of country to attend the Sabres' playoff game because a family member plays on the team and this location's proximity to the arena seemed great. The floor they were on had two rooms full of people and over capacity. It was reported to staff that they were threatened by a guest in the hallway who was under the influence. Smoking was happening in the rooms nearby. The staff mentioned in the elevator, before my husband said anything, that they were going to tell the front desk about it. My husband has severe asthma and it deeply affected his breathing during the stay. At check out, they were told those parties were going to be evicted. The hotel has now refused to take responsibility. This establishment should be completely embarrassed for the complete lack of safety to guests. We will never return and will encourage others, including friends and family travelling to Buffalo, to never stay at this hotel."

"The temps were in the 80's and we couldn't cool down in our room. The thermostat just kept blinking and did not appear to work. It was tough to sleep since there was no fan and we were sweating all night. The front desk clerks were the worst I have ever seen. Mostly, we didn't even see them. The beautiful lobby was completely empty every time we walked through. The front desk clerks obviously hated their job. We only met one other couple during our four-day stay and they agreed it was creepy staying at the Lafayette and the clerks were almost non existent with very bad attitudes."

"I had a delightful stay here on a busy graduation weekend. Wes, the owner was very kind and welcoming. I chose the smallest bunk room and it was quiet and I had everything I needed. I wish I had had time to experience the luxury of their outdoor pool/ hot tub. It looks very inviting. There are plenty of showers to use on each floor, each one decorated in a whimsical theme. Very clean. Every guest receives a robe and slippers which are welcome attire throughout the guest house. The breakfast they served was delicious and you are welcome to.cook your own food in their large kitchen for lunch or dinner. They have a welcoming porch with chairs and great library of books and games. I wish I had had more time to spend there! Parking on the street wasn't a problem even though it was a busy weekend in the city. I love that they are located right off of Alan St which is bustling with shops and restaurants that you can walk to...which is what I did the first night I arrived. A wonderful experience of my first visit to Buffalo. The owner has poured his heart and soul into this guesthouse , renovating it for 4 years before opening last year. I appreciate his efforts and wish him extraordinary success!"
