"A gorgeous place to stay with beautiful vaulted ceilings. Our room had a gas fireplace, and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was very nice with double sinks. The staff was just incredible! We highly recommend the breakfast, so yummy! Caveat: The internet access is very limited."

"This hotel refused to do anything or make it right from a serious situation. I made two reservations on behalf of my husband who has never been to Buffalo. They solely came from out of country to attend the Sabres' playoff game because a family member plays on the team and this location's proximity to the arena seemed great. The floor they were on had two rooms full of people and over capacity. It was reported to staff that they were threatened by a guest in the hallway who was under the influence. Smoking was happening in the rooms nearby. The staff mentioned in the elevator, before my husband said anything, that they were going to tell the front desk about it. My husband has severe asthma and it deeply affected his breathing during the stay. At check out, they were told those parties were going to be evicted. The hotel has now refused to take responsibility. This establishment should be completely embarrassed for the complete lack of safety to guests. We will never return and will encourage others, including friends and family travelling to Buffalo, to never stay at this hotel."

"The temps were in the 80's and we couldn't cool down in our room. The thermostat just kept blinking and did not appear to work. It was tough to sleep since there was no fan and we were sweating all night. The front desk clerks were the worst I have ever seen. Mostly, we didn't even see them. The beautiful lobby was completely empty every time we walked through. The front desk clerks obviously hated their job. We only met one other couple during our four-day stay and they agreed it was creepy staying at the Lafayette and the clerks were almost non existent with very bad attitudes."
