“It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The hosts were charming and attentive. It was fun to talk with them and the other guests, and the breakfast (made specially for each guest) was some of the best food I had while in the UK. The bathroom was pretty small, and the shower was one of those stand-alone ones that looks a bit like a box, but the bathroom and room were always very clean. The parking was a bit tight when every spot was full (I had a large rental car), but there was enough space...

“Once we were dropped off by our taxi on the street, we knew it was not a good area. The taxi guy warned us to be careful due to it being the roughest neighborhood in the area. I genuinely did not feel safe. The small alley/street we walked up to get to the entrance was lined with trash and shady characters. The halls and building smelled so strongly of smoke. Loud doors shutting off and on all night. The bathroom was so gross. No hot water for showers. Beard hair all in the sink from someone...

“I cannot fault anything that the owners had direct control over such as the room and facilities within the room. However, having shared bathroom facilities meant the possibility of noise at any time and also some of the guests had no respect for others including having rows and arguments at any time during the night.”
