Zandvoort Vacation Packages
Revel in some of Holland's natural beauty with a visit to the popular beachside town of Zandvoort. Go wildlife spotting in a national park, hike through a wilderness area of dunes or simply stretch out on the sands.
Zandvoort Beach is a 5.5-mile (9-kilometer) stretch of golden sand, popular with sunbathers. Note that this beach has a section dedicated to nude bathing. Relax with views of the water in one of the many beachside cafés and pavilions.
When you want to escape the sun, visit the Zandvoort Museum located right by the beach. It houses a collection of 19th-century seaside landscapes and old photographs covering Zandvoort’s long heritage as a beach getaway. See more memorabilia devoted to the town’s history as a vacation destination in the Cultural Center, a little farther down the beach.
While Zandvoort is a haven of seaside relaxation, there are lots of options for those who like a little more action during their downtime. Watch motorsports at the Circuit Park Zandvoort and hurtle down the slopes of SnowPlanet, an indoor skiing and snowboarding center. Kids will enjoy the slides at the indoor waterpark Subtropisch Zwemparadijs Aquafun.
Take a daytrip out to national parks to explore some of the country’s wild areas. National Park Zuid-Kennemerland is home to a wide variety of wildlife, from Shetland ponies and deer, to European bison and over 100 species of birds. Rent a bike and cycle along trails that pass through fir forests and across sand dunes. Cool off with a swim in the t’Wed lake.
Hike the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, an expanse of dunes that is car and bike free. As you stroll along any of the walking trails, see how many different types of wildlife you can spot. Look for foxes, goats and deer.
Zandvoort’s thrilling outdoor activities and long stretch of beach are approximately 15 miles (25 kilometers) from Amsterdam, making the town a popular vacation spot for those staying in the Dutch capital. There are lots of public transport options between the two locations.
