“This was such a cool place to stay. Very nice conversion. It’s walking distance to downtown and the river. The bath towels are bath sheets and very thick. What a wonderful luxury. Thank you! The nightlight in the bathroom and the ceiling fan were great! Our personal suggestions: Less confirmation emails. A chair to watch TV. A microwave. I am 50/50 on the contactless stay but my emails were responded to quickly.”

“Easy to drive to the lake, adequate breakfast to fuel the day. Our room said it would sleep 6 when I reserved. When we got there it was a king and foldout sofa. We were a party of 5. Requested a rollaway, but it never appeared. We put one of the kids on a pallet on the floor.”

“Nice inexpensive place to stay with an attached bar. In walking distance of a gas station, bakery and a restaurant. Beds are on the small side and rooms are a bit outdated. Overall we had a good experience and was pretty much what we expected for the price.”

“The front desk smells like cigarette smoke. The room was basically an efficiency apartment. There was a DirecTV box but no channels. TV is Roku so you need subscriptions.”

“We have stayed at Dunvilla every summer for the past 4-5 years when we visit family with a nearby lake house. The hotel is always clean, the staff incredibly friendly and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and refreshing. It is a rural setting, just a few miles from Pelican Rapids and I look forward to our stay every year. A hot breakfast is included as part of the stay and they have an impressive casual dinner menu as well. I truly look forward to our visit each year. I highly recommend……

“It was the cutest modern motel. My husband and I last-minute planned a getaway to Detroit Lakes for our anniversary. I found Beachfront Haven on the “Visit Detroit Lakes” website in places to stay. It was clean, cute, cozy, affordable, and we felt safe in the area. It is across the street from the lake, surrounded by amazing restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!”

“Loved the lake view and warm welcome from the staff. Everyone was very kind. The property has been well kept and updated. Great little getaway with a great view!”

“This place goes downhill every single year. We stay with a group for Christmas for the last 15 years. Wallpaper is peeling, you are charged for a “resort fee” but the pools aren’t even always working. Dining is subpar. Rooms are very dated and getting worse every year. I think it’s time for our family to move on from thumper pond. ”
