Ground floor. Very cold. The hotel property is old and in desperate need of decoration and updating. There was no water in the room, surely a basic in a hotel these days?! The shower was awful, no water pressure. The toilet is the size of a primary school child’s bottom and very, very low. The towel provided (found another in a Cupboard) was rock hard. Toiletries provided were basically fairly liquid. Now the main issue-the bed. It was a king (?) made up with two separate single mattresses that were different heights. Every move emitted a squeak and clunk of mattress springs. They were old and extremely uncomfortable. We got barely any sleep, eventually sleeping at 5am! There were no staff to be found at checkout. We will never stay here again and would recommend that no one else spend their hard earned money. When we complained, via Expedia, there was no apology, no refund, part of other. Very accommodating with an early check in request and helpful friendly bar service. The pub itself looked lovely. Very cosy though we only visited fleetingly Our room was very comfortable, with everything needed for a short stay. The bed was comfy and the room clean and warm. Thank you.
