“We were going to the supercross at Lincoln stadium. It was a lot farther away than we realized and the neighborhood was a little sketch However once we started settling in the neighbors were super nice. The owner was fairly easy to reach and the check in process was a breeze. There’s a great Italian restaurant within walking distance and the food was really good Not fancy but tasty”

“Very comfortable and cozy in a rural setting. Nice outdoor sitting area. It is located approximately 45 minutes from the Du Pont estates. This is a great place to stay.”

The neighborhood is very enjoyable, good restaurants, galleries, shops, and an awesome little ice cream place across the street. An easy drive to Longwood Gardens, Brandywine Museum and other interesting places. Our hosts were fabulous. One evening a smoke detector battery ran low and started beeping and they were here in minutes to replace……

“We liked both the location and the property! House was easy to locate, with good off-street parking. Easy access to nearby stores and restaurants. House has roomy bedrooms, kitchen, living room. Kitchen was well supplied (coffee/tea/dishwasher soap, napkins) as was the washer/dryer). Would add some plastic wrap and silver foil and better ice containers. Porch was a delight for evenings on a hot day! As seniors, we'd like to have grab bars in the tub/shower. Also suggest transition to LED lights……

“Swallow's Rest West was just delightful, and the perfect base for our visit to Longwood Gardens. It was so creatively decorated, had all the amenities needed, and was clean and comfortable. Our host Henry was wonderful. Only thing I would have changed was having an operating window on the upper floor, to let in some fresh, cool air at night. But this was just a minor issue. I would still highly recommend this property.”

“My friends and I stayed here for a girl's weekend. It was really a perfect stay. The location is great for walking to shops and restaurants. The house is so cute and beautifully decorated. There were so many little details that made us feel we were somewhere special--the kitchen had coffee, tea, and snacks set out for us. The bathroom had nice toiletries and we had plenty of towels for our group of five. The backyard patio looked very cozy and is set up for relaxing in privacy. We loved it!”
