Spot displays of endangered and extinct animals at the Grant Museum of Zoology. Learn about the life of the Nile Valley at The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology. Both museums are free of charge.

Set aside some time to relax in Bloomsbury’s collection of picturesque squares. Framed by handsome terraced houses, Bloomsbury Square is one of London’s oldest squares. Admire the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses that overlook Russell Square. The square’s tree-shaded lawns are ideal for enjoying a picnic on sunny days.

Literature lovers will rejoice in the opportunity to rummage in the many bookstores in the area Skoob Books stocks over 50,000 secondhand books. Browse African, Asian and Middle Eastern art at the Brunei Gallery. Catch a comedy, dance or music performance at the Bloomsbury Theatre.

Visit one of the many traditional pubs, which further enhance the area’s village ambiance. Sample artisanal foods and products from around the world at the Bloomsbury Farmer’s Market. It takes place on Thursday at Torrington Square.

You can find Bloomsbury toward the southern edge of the London Borough of Camden.
