“Gave all indications that a nice hotel was purchased with no updates or improvements done since. The carpet on the first floor, near the laundry room, was loose and wrinkled. Turning on the desk lamp in the room, dust snowed down to the desk. The bathroom sink faucet was grimy, like it had never been wiped down. The toilet ran all night long, about every 20 minutes. The coffee dispenser in the breakfast area was not working. The lobby was nice, but that apparently was only lipstick……

“The room was clean, stocked and well equipped for my travel needs. The breakfast was hot and full of options. The indoor pool was at a good temperature.”

“Upon arrival I was disappointed with the looks on the outside, so beware. Not the flashiest entrance. The manager didn’t seem to really care. Nice room, and the breakfast was awesome! Overall, for what we paid it was okay, but there is a really nice looking comfort in right next to the dollar general!”

“This little cottage was adorable. Very clean. The furniture and decor matching the vibe of historic Hannibal. We will definitely stay again on our next sisters' trip in Hannibal. Gordon was very quick with responses and was very friendly.”

“A Book lovers dream!! The books alone could keep me entertained for days! It smells like books! Host is extremely considerate! Place is right in the center of downtown things to do. You can walk everywhere! River 2 blocks away. My personal only complaint was the bed. Tons of soft pillows. Bed is not soft. Im very picky about that though. Wonderful place. Sincerely hope to stay again.”

“House was small and not especially clean. Behind curtains and stairs were dirty. I have stayed in old homes before. This one was small and not especially welcoming. The history was interesting though. I like cats and they did not bother us. The cats seemed to be more comfortable than any guest. Our room was surrounded by bathrooms. We did not have to share the Jack and Jill bathroom but the one in the hall was as if it was ours, it was so close. The automatic light in the hall came on……

“The host didn’t pay his power bill and the power was cut off. This is after I sent him the notice that was on the door. They didn’t have WiFi service until the 5th day. His bathroom threshold was a on inch high wooden board that busted your toe at night. They didn’t provide basic supplies like dish washing liquid or coffee supplies . When I I reported this to VRBO and checked out early. The host text me he was part of a business group in the area and he said I would never be able to rent a place……

“The property was terrific. Close to downtown and points of interest. Kitchen was well appointed with an amazing gas range which made cooking easy. Host was gracious and quick to respond with answers to questions. Beds were so comfortable!!!! Especially the brass bed in the room next door to upstairs restroom. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a clean and comfortable stay in Hanibal.”
