“Comfortable hotel, everything was perfect except the food. The food was modtly very hot and spicy. No shops or restaurant in the vicinitx”

“House keeping staff are really good. If you ask them something they do it right away. I was traveling from Canada my day started in the afternoon with my situation they were respectful with that Yasmin & Raju..hope I said or remembered the name correctly…apologies if I didn’t. Kava breakfast was pretty good since, I was a solo traveler I use to chill…the staffs were nice enough to me & gave me my space at the same time. Subhajit took care of a special dinner really appreciate the thoughtfulness,……

“This was not our first trip to the Novotel. As a family of 5 we are looking for amenities, convenience, cleanliness, and value. And I must say that Novotel is 5 stars in all o these categories. I especially appreciate the friendliness of the staff. There is not a hotel in the world in this price range, in my humble experience, that can compare with Novotel Kolkata. We will definitely stay again. ”

“ITC Sonar has the old world charm. It is trying very hard to stay relevant( and succeeding to some extent) after the advent of its bigger and better hotel next door, ITC Royal Bengal. But, for all its efforts, its a little jaded now. But its a large sprawling property. The Pan Asian restaurant is very good. A must eat place. A tip: Stay at ITC Sonar and use the facilities of its next door neighbor- ITC Royal Bengal”

“Staff was excellent and restaurants were superb. The room was clean but the property is old and could use some renovation. There was only one night where the noise was too loud (at 3am) but one call to the front desk and it was promptly addressed! ”

“The hotel is over all good but the things can be better. The menu in the restaurant is limited. It doesn't serve stuffed Parathas, almond and wall nut in breakfast. It doesn't show any business channel on TV. Staff is good and caring at all touch points. ”

“I have to give them 5* just for the location and the great staff. From reception to housekeeping and security, everybody is very friendly and trying their best. The property itself is tired. No lobby or lounge as such, no elevator. I saw some elderly people struggle on the stairs. Their traditional suites are larger rooms with a small couch. The heritage is there but I would rate the property an average 2* and it is overpriced.”

“I chose this property because it boasted a swimming pool. When I arrived, I was told it was closed for the winter. I wish they’d told me beforehand. However they upgraded me to a suite. It is a good hotel, a bit soulless but it is situated away from the mayhem that is Central Kolkata. There is good mall nearby and a few decent eateries.”

“Roaches, rats inside the room and hallways. Bed bugs eating blood at night. Very heavy construction sight with cranes digging at 6 AM to midnight. Human trafficking going on. Front desk taking passport and visa photos on their personal phones and making fun of official documents. No hot water in the bathroom. Safe doesn’t close, refrigerator doesn’t work, internet doesn’t work, lights doesn’t work, no water bottle and no connection to the front desk. Manager did not come to see the dark and……
