“I like the location being not right in a town but a short distance of drive from places such as Bibury and Cirencester. The room is on the small side but sufficient for our purpose. The inn faces an open ground with tables for drinkers and a creek which gave a good mix of environment. The rate was super reasonable which made me initially thought that breakfast was not included and turned out to be inclusive. We ate dinner one night and the food was incredible. The host and hostess were very……

“Great”

“The room we stayed was very hot in May 2019, only a fan and no air condition.”

“We loved our stay at this hotel! The rooms were quaint and well made up. There was even a bathtub in our room, which was a game changer! We also really enjoyed dining at the property's pub, and the food was amazing! Very much enjoyed the fish and chips and the lamb special they were serving. The location is perfect if you're exploring the surrounding Cotswolds towns and don't want to stay in the center of the action. We would definitely return to this hotel when we come back to the Cotswolds in……

“The Royal George is quite nice and it is in the quiet part of Gloucester.”

“(Lake view room) Excellent hotel in a beautiful area. The rooms have everything you could need, they are clean and are very well maintained. Friendly staff in the hotel and in the surrounding restaurants. Highly recommend the Gateway Cafe for brunch.”
