The location was perfect, and the host was friendly and responsive, making our trip stress-free.The only thing that stood out as a downside was the garbage situation. The policy felt a bit overcomplicated, and the garbage bin was extremely small, which made handling trash during our stay a hassle. “We had an amazing weekend getaway at this property. A total of 3 couples got together to celebrate a couple of birthdays. The property owner was very responsive and provided a list of places and addresses to visit. That was a great help since I didn't have to research things nearby because she had already laid it out for us. The place was charming, cozy and felt like a second home. “We booked this to be close to the rural venue of a family wedding. There were 8 of us, including the groom, and we all absolutely loved this house. It feels bigger on the inside than in looks from the outside, the rooms are so spacious and airy, lots of windows and sunlight. Modern in the ways it needs to be but retaining its idyllic, old farmhouse identity. The kitchen is incredible, and served us well in preparing a bunch of wedding food. “We had a wonderful time at the property. It is much more spacious than the pictures do it justice. The house was ls clean and well organized and K, the property owner was fantastic. Very responsive to questions and even came and plowed and salted while we were there due to the slow and ice storm we experienced. The property is about 25’ from Elk Mountain but the drive is easy and pretty. I would suggest AWD or FWD of going during the winter since many of the roads in that area are snow and ice……

We loved all the different places to gather, porches, fire pit, living spaces, kitchen barstools, and dining room. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of places to explore. Lacawac Sanctuary in particular was a beautiful place for walking and picnicking. Hope to come back another time.”

“This is not a luxury hotel - but this is a great property for getting away from it all with enough room for an extended family! The kitchen is huge and well stocked. Each room has its own window AC and several rooms have their own bathroom. The Dining Room/Sunroom/Living Room layout is great for large groups - we even moved tables around and fit our whole family (20 people) at one long table one night! Don't worry about packing linens and towels (except maybe a beach towel) as that is all taken……
