“This place is like a great fishing spot you don't want anyone to know about so you can keep it to yourself. Beautiful quiet and peaceful country setting. The house was sparkling clean, wall to wall, corner to corner. All new paint and trim. Two generous bathrooms that are brand new. Modern kitchen. The big yard and fire pit was fun. Games for the kids are supplied. We'll return!”

“My friends and I stayed over the weekend for an event in the area. Everything in the house is perfectly tuned for a visitors stay. I've stayed in numerous places before that are missing key items (silverware, toilet paper, blankets, etc.) and this place had it all. Would stay here again, I would love to stay here in the winter! We had 8 guests and paid extra but I do think it should be a little more clear that there are technically only though beds to sleep 6-7 depending on guests partners.”

“The property was amazing! It was very clean and the historical charm we were looking for staying inna civil wat home. It is close to all of the attraction but far away enough for peace and quiet. At night at the fire pit we all heard phantom cannons and muskets going off. The only area of opportunity, is the owners need to invest in new beds. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Everyone in our party did not sleep well at all. Over all, it was a great spot.off. It was epic!”

“We came for a short weekend getaway with our daughters. I worked nicely for a central location for everyone. The property had plenty of room and activities for all to choose from. We took daily walks to the neighboring battle fields. And when we were ready to head into Gettysburg it was a quick 6 minute trip. And many of the other attractions were also only 5 to 20 minutes away. Great place to stay if you like that little bit of privacy, and appreciate the charm of older homes.”

“We attend a work conference at Gettysburg College each year. The dorms are so not good for older backs and hips lol. We decided to VRBO and I found the Rested Rooster property and couldn’t be happier! Communicating with Danielle was so easy. The beds were comfortable. The house was clean. Essentials to stay us out were there waiting for us AND the coffee was delicious! Check-in was simple as was check-out. We plan to make reservations to stay here again next year. I highly recommend this……

“Beautiful area with great hiking trails, Shenandoah National Park about an hour away. Harper’s Ferry offered nice trails, shops, eateries and loads of history.”
