The room is very overpriced for what it is. The photos are deceiving. The room is very old and outdated and I would not stay there again or recommend it just because of its outrageously price for what it is.

We were looking for a quiet place for a few days and this was exactly what we wanted. The grounds are wonderful with grassy fields over looking the entire area with flowers all over the garden. A short walk brings you an inn that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner overlooking the grounds with an ocean view. Adjacent to our inn, there is a building containing all kinds of bikes for rent.

The hotel was clean and inviting with beautiful grounds. Our room was spacious and comfortable, a little dated, but very nice. Clearly there were updates happening, so I suspect it will be even better next time. I gave a 4 for the staff, but seemed more like understaffing and all of the staff were helpful and kind. Good continental breakfast - maybe open a little earlier! Close enough to the center of town - walking distance for sure. Would definitely go there again.

Great location on the island and a very clean property. Staff is friendly, but somewhat ineffective. Our room key was not left for us as advised at the check in office had we had to go the nearby Atlantic Inn to retrieve it. Continental breakfast was similar to what you'd find at a La Quinta, nothing wrong with it but disappointing for this price point. There is a large sun terrace with a great view, unfortunately 5 of the 6 loungers were completely unusable due to broken seating. Real bummer over three starry island nights. All small things, but expectations are higher for properties like this.

The hotel was what we expected - a classic Block Island inn location. Small converted farm house with a few rooms and a breakfast porch. No problem with that. The room was fine and the TV and internet worked well. Breakfast was a very simple continental. Some granola, cereal boxes, coffee, tea, bagel, toast and yogurt. There was also apple and cranberry juice, but no orange. Nothing hot, except toast. My biggest complaint was the Hotel would not honor the rate on the Expedia itinerary. The said "we don't get the rate on the itinerary", so they charged me about $38 more per night ($372 vs $411). Expensive either was but it was high season. Expedia talked to the hotel but they would not relent on the rate. Expect the same if you book Expedia.

The employees, views were great. But: There was a green plastic floss pick the stood out on the dark carpet on the stairway. It was on the center of the step. Outside stairway going to the top level on Friday afternoon. Sunday afternoon it was still there. Maybe the floss pickup employee was on vacation during the weekend and the other employees had the “it’s no my job” attitude. I was tempted to pick it up but wanted to see how long it would sit there.
