This inn was fabulous and the only reason I gave it less stars is because there wasn’t really staff but everything was ready for us and it’s a hidden gem in a great location! We loved sitting in front step and having our own bathroom!

Spacious renovated room, smooth check in & out process, and and staff were helpful communicating by text for ad hoc requests of ours. Our only suggestion would be to put a microwave in the common area, e.g. for families to be able to heat food they brought for children. Would more than happily stay here again!

My friend and I loved our stay at the Chart House Inn! If you are looking for a sweet cozy traditional style BNB look no further! We especially loved the location as it is in the sweet spot of town where it's just far away from all the noise so it's not overwhelming, but close enough to the action near America's Cup & Thames St. If walking, it is about a 15 minute walk to the International Tennis Hall of Fame. I would definitely come back again.

Loved our stay at The Charter Inn! Amazing location — pretty central to the busiest parts of Newport. We walked most of the time and left our car parked in the inn’s lot. The entire inn was spick and span, with charm in every corner of the building! We stayed in the Ida Lewis room, which was super spacious, had a beautiful bathroom, and was super comfy! Highly recommend The Charter Inn!

We stayed here for almost a week and had a wonderful time. It is conveniently located. They are very attentive and respond immediately. The room was clean. You have to request if you want things that would be considered standard in hotel situations like daily trash removal, fresh towels, etc. Love how they use local soap company. I was afraid since it was an older place there wouldnt be ac but there was. Overall recommend

What a charming little stay we had! Everything was very clean and easy to navigate. The beds were from heaven!!! Parking was easy and free. Super easy walk to all the fun things going on downtown. Future patrons, please note: - Although this is listed as a bed and breakfast, breakfast is not included. - No full body mirrors in the Julia Berwind room. We stayed for a wedding and wished we brought ours with us!

The room was very large, bed comfortable. They room layout with bathroom was a bit odd. Decor was very well done. The host was very friendly and times for check in were accommodating. Great location in downtown Newport. The room could have used a chair or two at the foot of the bed, so that there was a place to sit and possible drop items.

Probably one of my most favorite hotel experiences! The hotel/room is so charming and excellent location. They included drink vouchers and breakfast vouchers to a local restaurant down the street. Most definitely will stay here every chance we get!

Great location, great parking, good ambience. Hard to control temperature in our room, which made it hard to sleep even though the bed was super comfortable. Pretty bathroom with big tub and walk-in shower.

The window A/C unit was difficult to sleep through, but the innkeeper was attentive and helpful, providing a large circulating fan to keep us comfortable. Room was quiet, sufficient for our stay, and walkable to all of the beauty of Newport. The complimentary weekend breakfast at their restaurant was excellent! Would stay here again. :-)
