"Second trip to Ocean El Faro! Stayed in a Privilege Junior Suite Pool View. Had a great room with views of the ocean and Privilege Pool. Service was amazing! Jose was an outstanding butler who made our stay effortless. Jonh and Justina were great bartenders at the privilege pool. Overall, great resort! Would return again! "

"The food, staff, and customer service are horrible at this hotel. They require you to make reservations for all restaurants through an app that doesn’t work. You can only make 2 days of reservations and can only make them once you are on property. Concierge staff are the worst - rude and unhelpful! You can’t swim in the ocean (actually a bay) because of the murky water with tons of jelly fish. Spend less money and stay at a much better place like Secrets or Dreams (right down the street). The only thing amazing about this hotel is the fitness center and the upstairs adult Club Azur pool and restaurant."

"We stayed at the resort from March 14-22 (family of 5, three boys aged between 13-16) and had a very good but not perfect stay. POSITIVES: - clean grounds and rooms, you can definitely tell they went through a major renovation within the past 18-24 months - large and enjoyable pool, which never felt crowded even though the resort was fully booked - very good beach condition, and despite being windy most days we enjoyed the ocean with little to no seaweed - plenty of dining options, but see NEGATIVES below for more details - friendly staff - great follow-up from concierge staff after they helped us deal with a somewhat serious medical issue - the best a la carte restaurants for us were Umi (Pan Asian), Bella (Italian), but we were a little disappointed in the food overall - out eldest used the gym a lot and found it to be well-equipped NEGATIVES: - be prepared to get up early to secure pool chairs... there simply aren't enough for even half the guests, and if you're not down to save a spot by 7am you might be out of luck - while the staff was friendly, they didn't seem to try and draw guests into activities like we've experienced at other resorts in the past - the food was MEH... not bad, but not particularly good either - while the concierge staff was very helpful during a medical issue, we found the actual on-site doctor to be a little disorganized and casual in his approach to our situation... he did help get us sorted out, but could have made the process a little easier"

"My stay at Live Aqua was amazing, everything was more than we wished all the staffs from the beginning to the last minute we’re was there treated as 5 stars and made sure we had what we needed. "The property, beach, and kids club were amazing. Be careful booking on expedia. We booked a preferred ocean front swim out with two double beds. Apparently this room doesn't exist. When we got there we were put in a room with a King size bed and a pull out couch. We made it work but that is not what we booked. The room was also the farthest room away from the preferred club. Again we made this work but was not what was booked. This isnt the first time somwthing like this has happened to us using expedia. Also be prepared to tip the staff, especially the bar tender. Basically if you didnt have money in your hand he would not serve you. Food and service not the greatest and actually fell slightly below my already low expectations."
