Good Romantic Zone Location

Well located, attractive modern room and building. Nice rooftop lounging pool. Drawback is that it is an interior room... so it is very dark... so do not plan on inviting friends in for drinks. Hot water was inconsistent, but tolerable.

A Nice Room with Great Hosts!

My family booked two units in this building and this one was for a 22yo who needed her own space. It did that great! Everything was good, she liked having her own space, and check-in and check-out were super easy. We had every need met, including having airport transport booked for us. We didn't take advantage of the grocery pickup, but next time we might. I can't say enough about how great the hosts were. Our vacation was super easy. This space doesn't have a street-facing window or balcony, so keep that in mind when you book it. The window is to the open-air "lobby," a really unique design that can make it feel a little closet-like, but if you're looking for affordable and you plan to spend most of your time at the pool, beach, bars, restaurants, etc it really is a nice room and that's the best way to look it at — a huge bedroom where you can take a load off between beach outings and everything Zona Romantica has to offer! We'll be booking this again as a family addition to another booking.

The building and location are second to none if your desire is to be on the heart of the romantic district. Fabulous restaurants all within walking distance as are shops and stores.

Very dark

Pros: The bed is super comfortable, the bathroom shower excellent, air conditioning works well, the building has a gorgeous rooftop pool, front desk staff are friendly, and you're near great dining and entertainment. Cons: This interior unit's sole window faced the courtyard making it very quiet as it gets no street noise, but I did not realize how much the dark furnishings and low wattage light bulbs in the unit would create a noirish atmosphere. Who wants to spend a winter vacation in sunny Vallarta surrounded by black, gray, and brown decor? I spent virtually no waking hours in my unit. Either I headed up to that great pool or out on the town. The pool deck suffers a problem common to many resorts and cruise ships - thoughtless people get up early in the morning, throw their towels on the best deck chairs, then leave for hours before returning to enjoy the pool. This ridiculous practice means most of the best spots by the pool are "occupied" for most of the day by people who are not actually using them. Latecomers are left with slim pickings while towels, magazines, and hats enjoy the premium spots. If the building does not want to police that space, then guests just have to be assertive in removing all the stuff others leave to "reserve" the best space. Bottom line: This unit is a great place to sleep, but not somewhere I wanted to hang during the day. I might choose this building again, but I would choose a unit with more light and lighter furnishings.

Nice place!

The location is perfect for me. The interior design of the property was the only downfall. Because the only window faced the lobby, it was very dark. (I knew it when I booked, so I was not misinformed.). The WiFi seemed spotty as well. Could use a booster.

Perfect for a single traveler or couple!

This studio apartment is perfect for a single individual or couple wanting to visit PV! It's in the heart of the Zona Romantica, walkable to everything (including the beach). You have access to a beautiful rooftop, pool, and gym. In this particular unit, don't expect much sunlight as there's really only 1 window, but if you don't plan to spend much time in the room, you won't notice (and it's very nice for sleeping). It is on the first floor so sometimes you can hear other guests/staff in the lobby, but generally pretty quiet. ONE CAVEAT: the property management company has no emergency line during off-hours so if you lock yourself out like I did at night, good luck. I had to stay at a friend's place until the next morning.

Great Stay!

Everything from check in, during out stay, and check out were great. I am still giving 5 stars because we had such a great time. I would say to bring a noise maker if you like to sleep in as others have stated, the mornings can be noisy from the lobby.

Nice little unit

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days. The place is just as pictured. It is in a good location, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, and fast quick Uber rides everywhere else. The rooftop is really nice with a heated pool, plenty of chairs, a bbq, and a small gym. We didn't have any problems following the rooftop rules, which some reviewers complained about. The window out to common space wasn't really an issue for us. We were there during COVID/lockdown, so the rooftop was closed the first few days of our stay, and we were in the unit more than were would normally be. The staff does a great job with cleaning common spaces, security, checking temps, and pushing hand sanitizer. Lobby was closed for gathering/sitting. The water pressure was probably the best I have had in Mexico, and the bed was more comfortable than some of the rock hard mattresses you experience in a lot of hotels. Big drawback for me was no dryer with the washing machine. We pack light, so I was sad that I missed that in the listing. My fault. The washer worked excellent, has a disinfect cycle, and plenty of soap provided. It's a basement, so things didn't dry fast hanging up. All my vitamins in my pill box turned to mush due to moisture. There's a "grandma's basement" smell throughout the unit, especially in cupboards/closet. Our first night, the bedding and pillows smelled of sweat, but the host responded the next day with a good cleaning and sanitizing. They were kind enough to compensate me, plus I got a free extra cleaning. Excellent customer service. Minor drawback, the kitchen had one 5 inch fry pan, so we had to eat in shifts. There were a ton of spices, but no salt/pepper/garlic. Overall, it was a good stay. I am coming back in April, but will be staying in a different unit with a dryer. I would stay in this unit again, especially after COVID, and we didn't spend time and cook in the unit as much as we did.

Nice but hidden disappointments

Starting with the pros of the property: -excellent location regarding eating, nightlife , & any amenity -exceptional clean pool and view. - exceptional clean and supplied condo. - exceptional and prompt service from Riccardo prior to arriving and during stay. Cons: -appliances in condo (fridge and washer/dryer) had no English instructions for use and were not user friendly...but were brand new and immaculately clean -the only window in condo looked out to main floor elevator/lobby area so no privacy was available nor able to have air flow thru room Each morning starting at 0500 the lobby staff would congregate at the security desk and have extremely loud discussions and laughter including banging of equipment .We tried talking to them but no change was ever made...so sleeping in was never had. -pool side had lots of cons! Extremely strict rules regarding lounge chairs...NO MOVEMENT in ANY direction was allowed and STRICTLY ENFORCED! -only white towels supplied by condo owners were allowed...so dont bring your own! -no drinks allowed pool side ONLY at your chair..even if u sit on ledge of pool. AND ENFORCED. -no heater was on in pool for first few days..so unable to cool off in water as temp was unbearably cold. -every friday during entire day pool is closed as they perform maintenance. No "building" rules were provided to us prior to arrival to know these cons of the pool and pool area. If you are pool people you will definitely need to do your background check of this property's pool rules. ...as this can be a holiday breaker.

Great location

Very nice 3 day get away. The unit was exactly how it appeared and was in great shape. Downtown location near all the restaurants, nightlife, and just a few blocks to the beach. I will definitely stay here again when I'm back in PV.

Room for Two

This is a great property close to all that Old Town has to offer! Just steps away from a hospital, coffee shops and in close proximity to some of the best restaurants that PV has to offer! Only a block from Basilio Badillo where you will find great food, great shopping and a Starbucks !! The property management was more than helpful with our plans and changes and the security staff in the building were friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely rent this unit again as it meets most of our needs. With that being said there are a few minor downsides to the property, such as being located next to the lobby. Convenient yes, but it can be noisy. There is no patio, but there is a window that can be opened to the common area to allow fresh air in. It does tend to keep the unit cooler not having the sun shining in. If neither of these issues are a concern, then you are in for a great time!
