"As a little motel close to a festival venue, the Black Bear Lodge was just what I was looking for. I was prepared for it to be small and basic and for the decor to be somewhat dated. "Brought the whole family, ages 4 to 69, and it served us all well. House is beautiful and well kept. Mario was available for any questions or concerns. We enjoyed the fire pit and games every night. Kitchen was well equipped, soaking tub was a hit! "
"Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice. I would stay here again! I recommend getting a room facing the mountain, it is worth the upgrade. The only two issues were 1. The couch in the room was the most uncomfortable couch I’ve ever sat on. It was aesthetically nice for the room but rock hard. 2. The breakfast didn’t include any gluten free options. As someone who has to be GF, it would have been nice to have an option for breakfast without having to leave the hotel. Otherwise, it was great. Everyone working there was nice and professional. "

"Exactly as advertised. The house was clean and equipped with one of the best kitchens in any place I've rented. Every appliance worked perfectly, which is surprisingly uncommon in lake houses. Our visit was in the summer, so I can't confirm how effective the heating is, but the air conditioning worked fine for us.The lake was very clear, and boats in good condition. Hot tub, sauna, etc. all functional and very clean too. The grill and fire pit were perfect. There was plenty of large logs for firewood, but I recommend bringing your own fire starter and kindling. You can buy these at the big grocery store 10 mins away by car. Great hiking in the area. The host was very responsive and accommodating.There are a couple things that weren't problems for us, but worth noting in case they matter to you:1. Not all bedrooms have air conditioning. At least (a) the bottom floor room with the queen and (b) the bottom floor room with the 2 doubles have no A/C.2. The top floor bedroom (with the 4 twin beds) has no door, so you can hear a lot of noise from the main kitchen and living room area"

The game room was decent, but nothing to write home about.
Only issue was the coffee maker did not have the pot to go with it. I had to put my cup under the spout and push up against the coffee maker nozzle with my fingers to coax the hot coffee to come out! HOT coffee which my fingers didn’t enjoy."

"Our three generation family stayed here for a week. There were 15 of us. With enough beds, sofa beds and four full bathrooms we were very comfortable. The second floor kitchen-dining-living room was our living space and accommodated us well. The weather was great and we used the wrap-around deck and the fire pit in the backyard. The kitchens have plenty of dishes and pots and pans. Attractions in the Catskills are close by. We all agreed we would stay again."
"Great stay for our bi-annual friends reunion! This place had everything - the lake was well-equipped with kayaks, mini kayaks for the kids, pedal boat, etc. With comfortable sleeping arrangements for everyone, and enough plates bowls cups and a big table to gather around. Grill, seating areas for reading or morning coffees, fire pit, hot tub. And of course the sauna! Everything worked great and was so comfortable for our stay. Great communication from our host - absolutely would recommend!!"

"We were a family of 8 with our dog and the house was exactly as described. Beautiful water, very clean and great for swimming and kayaking. The hot tub and sauna were an extra bonus. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The decks overlooking the water were great. Very relaxing! Nataliya quickly answered any questions we had. Great host! Would highly recommend. "
"We had an excellent stay at this home. We had 12 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone - enough bedrooms and seats at the indoor and outdoor dining tables. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. We enjoyed the ping pong table, hot tub, and volleyball court. The view of the mountain was spectacular. The only downsides were some bugs, difficulty closing/opening the deck doors, and no direct creek access from the yard. Otherwise, no complaints!"
