The hotel is undergoing renovations and upgrading. While our room was on the worn and dated side, the bed itself was comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The staff were very kind and helpful. The biggest surprise was the breakfast! Thanks to Alidair I was able to get some fried eggs! It was a hot selection and very fresh. The downside for senior or handicap travellers is that there is no level entrance to the hotel. You have to go up a side street, in through a side door and through a renovation area. There was no mention of this on the website. Overall, it was a good stay that is very central to Glasgow.

What a great place to stay! Luxury vibe at an affordable price. The room was clean, stylish, comfortable, quiet, and had everything necessary for an extended stay- full kitchen, table and chairs, quality bedding and towels. The location was perfect for our needs and we felt comfortable walking back after dark in the neighborhood.

Room was overall very clean and comfortable. The shower runner(plastic strip on bottom of shower door), was red with mould, needs replaced and its a cheap fix. That's the only criticism of cleanliness. The actual lock on the door didn't work, the door wouldn't push far enough forward for the lock to catch its slot on the frame. We relied instead on the privacy 'snib'. We did feel safe though and did intend to mention it at checkout but no one at reception and we were in a hurry. Had food in the cafe/bar, it was good and nice atmosphere.
