A good night’s sleep is becoming a top priority for travelers when choosing accommodations. Ahead of World Sleep Day on March 14, Hotels.com reports a 40%1 year-over-year increase in hotel reviews mentioning ‘sleep.’ The trend is not surprising, considering a recent poll found that 57% of adults say they would feel better if they got more sleep.
“It’s not new that travelers expect a great night’s rest no matter where they are staying, however it’s clear that people are now traveling specifically to learn more about their sleep,” said Melanie Fish, vice president of Global Public Relations at Hotels.com. “Some hotels are going way beyond comfy pillows and black-out shades, offering full-on sleep reports and customized plans at check-out. As the experts, we can find the perfect stay for anyone through the Hotels.com app, whether it’s a sleep program or overnight analysis you are looking for.”

Hotels are introducing innovative ways to help guests optimize their rest—from sleep tracking technology to personalized recovery plans. Travelers are taking notice; one review of the Equinox Hotel in New York praised the experience, calling it “the best sleep we’ve had in years.” To help others achieve the elusive goal of a full night’s rest, Hotels.com has curated a list of top sleep-focused stays based on traveler reviews.
- Park Hyatt New York: Special “sleep suites” at the Park Hyatt feature restorative, high-tech beds that detect heart rate and breathing patterns to lull guests into a deeper sleep.
- The Logan Philadelphia: The 8-hour sleep spa treatment at the Logan ensures immaculate sleep. The treatment room has specialized lighting that mimics the night sky, where guests enjoy breathwork, reflexology, aroma therapy and guided meditation.
- Equinox Hotel New York: Committed to the belief that sleep is both a science and art, the Equinox offers a sleep lab and jet lag reset tools. They partnered with leading sleep scientists to curate a “sleep well” menu that revitalizes the mind and body.
