Selfies from around the world

Let’s be honest. We all, at some point or another, have taken a selfie. It might not have been a Kim Kardashian-style mirror selfie and we may have not posted it online, but we’ve all taken one at some point—some of us just out of necessity because there was no one else present to take the photo. While you won’t see much in the way of mirror selfies from me, I’ve taken my share of selfies, both out of novelty and necessity, as a frequent solo traveler (these long arms come in really handy for this).

As a company, however, I’d like to think that Expedia was something of an early adopter of the travel selfie. Last year we posted a round-up of the best cat travel selfies on Buzzfeed. Because what’s better than a travel selfie? One with cats.

This week we’re sporting some selfies yet again. As you read this, some of our bloggers and hundreds of other travel bloggers from around the world are gathering in Cancun for the annual Travel Bloggers Exchange (TBEX). Travelers, and especially travel bloggers, love documenting their travels with selfies. So it only seemed natural then that we’d throw a selfie-themed party, a bash that we’ve dubbed, “More Selfies in More Places.” (Be ready to take your own selfies tonight with the #ExpediaTBEX hashtag on Moon Palace’s Moonlight Terrace for a chance to win travel.)

Leading up to this week in Cancun we asked our bloggers to share the best selfie (or, in some cases, the best “famfie”) they’ve ever taken. See what they came up with below.

The Planet D in Iceland

Our favorite selfie comes to you from the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa in Iceland. After a cool and rainy 10 days driving around the Ring Road it was a wonderful feeling to relax in the hot, soothing waters before our flight home.
