“loved Alaska !”

Clean, comfortable, as described online. They had a nice variety of food for breakfast which was an added bonus. Off-street parking behind the building was nice. Entry to building was locked after hours which added to us feeling secure in our room since there was not a desk clerk 24/7. No AC - it was warm :) Close enough to the downtown area to walk. About 8 - 10 minutes from the airport (at nite).

“A very good deal!”

The Anchorage Downtown Hotel is very affordable and, for its price, a good place to stay. - The room is very small. With a bed and a chest of drawers in it, there's not much floor space left. There's no desk, no chairs, no real closet. It feels more like a bedroom at a B&B than a hotel room. Kind of funky, which doesn't bother me. - There's a fridge and a microwave in the room. - There's a supermarket about 4 blocks to the south. - The main streets of downtown are about 5 blocks to the north. - The hotel itself is in a quiet part of town and looks like a small two-story apartment building. - Free wi-fi. - Free breakfast. - No AC. - My room has a big sunny exterior window, which was great, but some rooms only have a window that opens to the interior corridor. The corridor does get plenty of natural light though. Again, kind of a funky floorplan. - Huge park next door. - Airport shuttle available upon request. The shuttle driver is very helpful and friendly. - No frills, but a good deal.

“A little gem in the heart of Anchorage”

This is a little gem in the heart of downtown Anchorage. I needed an inexpensive place to stay on a layover and shopping trip. I was by myself so the room size was just fine. I would not have booked if I had been with my family of 5. The room was small and cozy, the bed was comfortable, the room was a bit on the warm side but they had 2 fans in the room I could have used had I gotten too hot. The location was excellent and easy to find. Very convenient to downtown and the airport. The off street parking was fantastic. The room was clean, quite and well decorated. The shower was a bit old and there was not a hand held shower attachment as the description stated. Not overly concerned about that feature, but since the shower doors didn't close very well, I managed to soak the floor of the bathroom. Overall, a great little hotel in the heart of Anchorage. Would definitely stay there again if I'm ever in Anchorage without the kids.

“A Little Gem”

A very comfortable hotel for the price. The hotel is not located in the heart of the city but is within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and other amenities. The staff is friendly and a simple continental breakfast is available each morning.

I wanted a cheap place to stay for my quick trip to anchorage, and that is what I got! there is nothing fancy about the place, the room was TINY and I actually felt more like I was staying at a hostel, not a hotel. the walls/floors were thin and the room was cold. overall though, it was cheap, convenient, and the bed was comfortable. I would consider staying there again only if I needed a room and truly didn't want any other luxuries, but I think I will be needing more luxury next time I'm in town!

“Too hot!”

Our room 214 was extremely hot. It had no aircon control and window opened onto passage. Reception promised to cool it down but there was no improvement. Eventually I was told that our room was over the boiler and the temperature was always a problem. They offered to change our room as the hotel was not full. I wondered why this room is used at all! Unfortunately this ruined our stay and we wold not return. Hotel has no elevator and rooms are small. Cupboard/hanging space is behind fridge/microwave. Staff were pleasant and room was spotless.
