“Amazing hotel in a great location”
Starwood's Le Meridien in Bangkok is simply a beautiful hotel in a great location (if you want to be near the Patong Night Market. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was beautiful.
“exellent modern hotel”
recently stayed at Le Meridian - had a fantastic comfortable stay. amenities were fantastic, staff was professional and cooperative....all in all a great hotel
“Pat-Pong Ping Pong Anyone?!?!?”
If you are NOT a sex tourist, stay away from this area and choose an hotel on or near the river. Other than the sex shops and fake goods, there is little to want to see in this area of town. Jim Thompson has a shop a short walk from the hotel which is worth a visit - beautiful things but not cheap!! The reviews on this site do not reflect this area of town particularly well. I guess the guys who are gushing about it have their own reasons! Having walked across the street with my wife, within 2 minutes I had someone thrust a 'menu' in my face asking if I wanted to see women do various things with ping-pong balls or fish or........... I am not a prude but this was pushing the boundaries of acceptability. As for the hotel itself - don't bother spending the extra for the round bed - it's a rip off - simply a regular room where the normal bed has been removed and a round bed substituted - it simply cramps the room. The picture on the website doesn't reflect the room that you get - glass on two sides of a round bed looks nice - reality is a small room, dominated by a round bed. I paid for wi-fi through expedia as part of the additions to my stay, yet they had no record of this on the hotel system, even when asked if this was included. The staff in the bar were less than friendly! Only ate there the once as a result! Overall, the hotel is clean and very modern. Rooms are small. Location is only for those looking for something fake or fast and loose!
“Excellent hotel in Bangkok; maybe one of the best!”
Excellent location, very friendly staff, very confortable room. The only place I stay when I'm in Bangkok
“Great lively hotel in the middle of Bangkok”
We stayed at the Le Meridian for three nights and loved it. It has an fun upbeat lobby, comfortable, spacious rooms with soft pillows and mattress. The hotel staff is very cordial and helpful. You also have 24 access to a good size gym and equipment. Once you leave the hotel you are within walking distance to the Light Rail and tons of restaurants, massage pallors and the famous Patpong Night Market. The only thing I would warn people is that the red light district is right next door/ alley to the Night Market. Didn't bother us, but may not be suitable for children.
“BEST IN BANGKOK”
I LOVE LE MERIDIEN IN BANGKOK,, WE BOOKED THE ROOM WITH THE CIRCULAR BED, AND IT WAS AMAZING, AND ALSO HAD A LOT OF BENEFITS WITH IT, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! THE STAFF ALSO VERY KIND ALWAYSSSSSSS THE RESTAURANT AND BAR A LITTLE BIT PRICEY, BUT IS OK, ITS LEMERIDIEN... EXCELENTE OPTION ILL GO BACK!
“Fantastic hotel in the heart of Bangkok night life district”
The staff at this hotel were amazing. I was served a lovely shot of iced espresso while checking-in. My room wasn't ready so they offered me to take a shower and wait at the gym/pool. The locker room was small and the gym was unattended but they do have really nice Hermes amenities. The pool was slightly disappointing though. The corner suite on the 18th floor was very spacious and well-appointed. Everything you would expect to in a five-star hotel is here. They even have an espresso machine a Bose stereo and high-tech telephones etc. Too bad they only have iPod connection to the TV which is a shame as the Bose would acoustically better. So bring along your own aux-cable if you plan to connect your iPod to their Bose system. In-room internet access cost around 500baht a day but you can get free WiFi password at the reception and that worked in room as well. Breakfast was plentiful however the croissant could have been better considering this is a French hotel chain :D Location-wise, it is a stone throw from Bangkok's famous Patpong red-light district. The area is very tourist-centric so there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.
“****NOT A TRUE 5 STAR HOTEL****”
This hotel might be considered a 4 start hotel in the USA. The materials used to build the hotel were top notch, but the execution of the construction was not up to par! The room had a pluming problem, had to flush h 3 times, the sink backed up. The hardware is very modern but of medium quality. The tile work was a bit messy as was the dry wall ceiling. The non-smoking room smelled like stale smoke. The internet access was expensive. If I owned this hotel I would sue the construction company who built the place, very substandard construction for a 5 star hotel. I believe quality is in the details. This hotel is a good value for a 5 star, but should be compared with 4 star hotels, not 5 star when booking. Also we left a nice hand made silver bracelet on the bed stand when we checked out. Called a day later and they could not find. Use the safe in the room, or you may loose you things. I might stay here again if I get a bargain, but wont pay more than other 4 stars in the area.
