Cannes Old Town, Cannes Hotel Rooms at the Independent

The Five Seas is a wonderful hotel; staff is friendly and extremely prompt. Location was also perfect and very easy to navigate in and out of the area in a car. Breakfast in the roof top restaurant provided wonderful views! The room was very spacious and great amenities. Staff is very friendly and were very helpful in mailing a book that we left behind back to the US, at hotel expense. My only frustration was the hotel's unwillingness to distribute irons and ironing boards to rooms as they claim patrons have damaged the carpet in the past by dropping the iron. I have stayed at 4 star hotels across Europe and the US and have never encountered this experience. If you need clothes ironed they will do it for you but at a rate of 30 Euros per request, I recommend giving them everything you need pressed at one time. The saving grace was they did turn around an ironing request within 15 mins.

This was a great value -- a much nicer stay at a better price than we got in Nice, for example. The staff was friendly, helpful, and gave us great advice on restaurants. We had a terrific time in Cannes and I think the hotel contributed to that.

Hotel le Mistral is a vey comfortable hotel in the center of Cannes. You are one block from the beach right between the fashion and historical side of the town. Right down the street is the Palais de Festival, which is really cool. This isn't a luxury hotel so it doesn't have it's own private beach, but I feel the public beaches are just as nice. The one main drawback is the lack of an elevator (which made being on the top floor more difficult). We couldn't hold it against the hotel though, and the staff was very nice and helpful giving an overview of the city when we checked in. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone is looking for affordable quality and is not afraid of some stairs.

Great place to stay in centre of Cannes. Good locaton.

We have stayed at the Hotel Splendid many times and love the Provencal decor and superb location. We will return again as soon as we can.

Pleasant staff. Rooms are simple but clean, quiet and functional. We stayed during the Cannes film festival. Location is not the best for that venue as it is a bit of a walk to the theatres and venues and inconvenient if one is trying to return to hotel between meetings and screenings. Cost of all hotels at that time are excessive. Unfortunately, we were paying probably 4 times the usual rate for our accommodations making the stay very expensive.

Crisp, clean sheets. Immaculate plentiful towels. Smallish room but well appointed. Friendly helpful staff. They let me keep my bag there for 6 hours after I checked out, while I was wandering the town before getting on my train.

We stayed in the junior apartment for 1 week in September. The apartment was a great size for 2 people, but was still comfortable for the 3 of us (although the bed was more comfortable than the sofa bed). It was very modern and functional- and we were pleasantly surprised with the kitchenette which was a great size so we could cook our own meals. We had a lovely balcony- not a sea view, but was nice to eat our breakfast out in the sunshine. The location was great! It was down a little road off the front but was just a minutes walk to the beautiful public beach, and an easy walk to the Palais des Festivals, the Marche Forville, La Croisette and the church and museum in Le Suquet. It was just a few minutes walk from the bus station, where we were dropped off by the coach from Nice aiport. The staff at the 24hr reception were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and as students, think it would be good accommodation for anyone, particularly couples/friends.

Room is very clean. Bed is very comfortable. Staffs are very friendly. Breakfast is nice. Very good location.

We just returned from Cannes and I do not recommend this property. The room was in bad condition, the bathrooom needed repairs (we ended doing the repairs as the person they sent did not know how to fix it). There was no toilet paper and was lacking other supplies. The location was great but the property is in bad condition.
