We loved being so close to awesome trails and sparsely populated beaches. The house was VERY clean. The furnishings might be worn and torn but everything is clean clean clean. The layout of the home is funky with lots of places to sleep but only one bedroom with a door. Keep in mind there is no estuary access from the property but amazing views. Plus one of the coolest trails by the estuary is very close by. The fenced yard was great for our dog. We had a great time!

Sandlake View
We had a very nice stay. The views are beautiful. Watching the birds was soothing, and fun to watch the different birds come and go with the tide changes. The house is very nice and had ample space. No cell service or WiFi, which allowed for quality visiting time, no one was working or glued to their phone! This location was central to all of our favorite restaurants North and South! We found a very quiet beach location a short distance away with very few people, great for sea shelling and running the dogs! We look forward to next spring break at Sandlake View! : )

Beautiful estuary view.
Nice home on a busy road so there is a bit of road noise. Could use some interior work ie; Upstairs bathroom needs to be finished and the front door needs a deadbolt lock. All in all however a very nice place to stay for the price.

The family enjoyed our stay here. My brother really enjoyed the surround sound up stairs. The house was very accommodating for us and our fur babies, thanks again.

Very comfortable, cute home with an amazing view.
We spent the weekend at this property with some friends and had a great time. The house is very comfortable, well-equipped, in a great location with an amazing view. We were minutes away from a very nice beach and 1/4 mile away from the entrance to a wildlife refuge. It was the perfect size for a party of 2 children and 4 adults. My only suggestion for guests would be that you make sure you request the access code to the lockbox 2 or 3 weeks ahead of your arrival time.

Beautiful view but otherwise just OK
Pros: The view at The Sandlake View house is spectacular. No doubt. The internet works well and we appreciated the access to Netflix. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Cons: We never received the check in instructions. And when I checked the VRBO app, where we were told the instructions would be, upon arrival, it informed us that the owner was supposed to send us a lockbox code after payment. We never received that and we ended up spending an hour driving around to get cell service, attempting to contact the owner and then on the phone twice with VRBO before we could get the code. There were also no check out instructions provided so we weren't sure if we needed to strip beds, start laundry, take out garbage, empty dishwasher, etc. The house is basic and set up kind of strange where the main hang out space is in the upstairs bedroom. The couches there are fine, but there is no coffee table (we did find a card table in a downstairs closet on our last morning there) and everything felt a bit sparse. The only place to eat is in the kitchen where the table makes things pretty cramped and there is no view. (Only four people can eat at the table which was fine for our group of four, but strange since the place says it sleeps six). There was no soap in the showers and only an almost empty bottle of liquid soap at the sink. The heat in the downstairs bedroom did not work. Overall our stay was OK, but nothing to rave about I'm sorry to say.

Sandlake View house has all that you need - good location
This Sandlake view house has all that you need to enjoy your time away from home. It is very clean. The kitchen has mostly new dishes and utensils. The mattresses are very comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit marginal but functional. It is located about 10 - 15min. from the sand dunes and 10-15 min. from Pacific City. The house sits on a busy road but the house is very solid and quiet. I'd recommend it for you and your family and friends.

Perfect Little weekend getaway spot
Accommadations were overall very nice and well maintained. Beds were not real comfortable for any of our family.

PERFECT
This property was the ideal base of operations for my nephew and I to crab at Sand Lake and Whalen Island. Plenty of room, we each had a floor to ourselves. The view from the deck is wonderful. We could even check the tide at Whalen Island from the house. We get to the coast every 2-3 months and plan on using this property again if it is available. Thanks

Great Getaway!
We had such a lovely time staying at the Sand Lakes house! Our first day we were in the middle of a storm with winds up to 70 mph and lots of rain! The weather kept us indoors more than we would like, but were nice and snug indoors! Watching the huge waves crash in the distance was fun and we were lucky enough to be able to watch bald eagles on two different days! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The view is spectacular!
Home is well stocked and tidy. We loved the view and ease of access to all of our favorite places on the coast. Peaceful, off the beaten path and away from the crowds. Would love to come back on the off season!

Outstanding view
Very nice home with everything that I needed for the kitchen. An excellent view of Sandlake, and so serene to watch as the subtle flow of the tide changed the landscape. I would rent "The Sandlake View" again

Beautiful view
We were very happy with our stay. We spent a lot of time on the second-floor deck watching the herons and bald eagles out on Sandlake when the tide was out. House was very clean and comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and the wifi was fast. Scott immediately replied to any email queries before our trip. In general, it was quiet, but there was some noise from the road and ATVs at the Sandlake Recreation Area. Very close to great walking/hiking areas (e.g., Cape Lookout, Bayocean Peninsula Park (no vehicles allowed on the beach), Bob Straub (there were a few vehicles the day we were there, a Sunday)). Also liked the restaurants we tried in nearby Pacific City (Grateful Bread and Ben and Jeff's Burgers and Tacos, both excellent). We usually stay in Oceanside when visiting this part of the coast, but were glad we found Sandlake View and hope to return during the spring or fall bird migrations (to again enjoy bird watching from the deck).

Good
It is a clean and spacious house. I recommend better sheets for the bedroom upstairs. It also would be nice to provide the guests some information about the path (on feet) to the beach since neighbors property blocks the path to water.
