Acorn Cottage Village of Bacova in Bath County, VA

Originally built in the 1920's and newly renovated in 2018/2019, Acorn cottage is a charming single level, two bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage in the small village of Bacova, Virginia. Each bedroom has a bathroom attached. Centrally located in Bath County, it is minutes away from Lake Moomaw, Warm Springs, Hot Springs and the historic Omni Homestead Resort. The cottage is 8 miles, (about 12 minutes) from the Homestead Resort. A great home base for anyone looking to get away and explore Bath county's beautiful hiking trails and fishing holes.

****At the recommendation of our County Health department, due to COVID we have added the following procedures for staying at Acorn Cottage.

To protect our guests, housekeeper and ourselves, we are leaving a 2 day gap between each guests stay.

The cottage is deep cleaned between each reservation, which includes sanitizing all doorknobs, light switches, telephones and remotes. We also run a whole house circulating fan between each guests stay.

During, and at the end of their stay, we ask all guests to seal and put their trash to the garbage bins located in the garage at the cottage. (Tom or I will stop by the garage every three days or so and take the trash to the transfer station.)

Guest should run all their dishes through the dish washer.

The small washer and dryer in the cottage are for guest's convenience, (we have a commercial washer and dryer we use for all the cottage linens.) At checkout, guests should place all used linens (towels, bathmats etc.) in the cloth laundry bags provided and leave the bags in the back hall of the cottage for pick up. We will take care of stripping the beds, and wash all sheets and blankets.

Beautiful retreat!
What a fantastically appointed cottage in serene Bath County! We came for a long weekend and were not disappointed. The house was thoughtfully curated and it’s clear that Dana and Tom are people who appreciate the details. We loved our time here, feeling cozy as we read, played games, and took shelter from some truly wide ranging spring mountain weather (hail, snow, rain and sun!). The location was perfect for jaunt over to the warm springs pools as well as lots of hiking. We highly recommend it!

The owners spared no expense in making this place as cozy as possible, all of the furniture was spotless and comfortable. The check in process was very simple and the checkout was the same way. We spent time with our daughter visiting the Warm Spring Pools and exploring the surrounding area. The Acorn Cottage was perfect for the three of us. It’s location is close to Hot Springs and other sites. The cottage is very cute with plenty of room in a quiet area. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Beautiful Cottage in Bacova
The Acorn Cottage is perfect for a family getaway in Bath County! The house is beautifully decorated, fully equipped with top notch appliances, and the house is stocked with everything you and your guests may need. Two extremely comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, and even a nice pull-out couch. We plan to return to this wonderful cottage again. The owners are very accommodating and responsive with any questions.

Absolutely relaxing and gorgeous cottage
I booked the cottage for my sister's getaway weekend to celebrate her birthday with another friend. We spent three nights and enjoyed every minute of it! We use the kitchen to cook meals and enjoyed the front porch as well. The location is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is immaculate! Great features all around and I would definitely come back!! I really like the extra touches like the plush towels, the nice linens, and the extensive notes provided by the host about places to hike. The little things! And the big things!

We had a wonderfully comfortable 10-day stay at Acorn Cottage. It is one of the best equipped and organized rentals that we’ve ever experienced. The owners have thought of just about everything to make your stay easy and relaxed, and the cottage was super clean and fresh. It’s located in Bacova, a small residential village. You will need to drive to get groceries or to dine out. But the area is so peaceful that you may not want to leave! Be aware that there is no AT&T cell signal at the cottage, but the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The television works via a satellite dish, which gets the regular Dish channels plus Netflix, Prime video, and YouTube. Highly recommended!

We were mostly at a larger rental with extended family during the day but it was very nice to come back to our own space in such a lovely home. The house has very modern decoration. It was nice to see so much beautiful reclaimed wood. The kitchen has all the necessities, even ground coffee! There was enough space for my husband and I with our 3 children, 2 sharing a bed and one on the pull out couch. Dana and Tom are thoughtful, communicative hosts. If you're looking to getaway and enjoy the mts and stay in a lovely cottage look no more!
I loved everything about this property, so much so I booked it again! I enjoyed all the hikes and the cottage is perfect. Next time I'll bring my bike and my fishing pole.
