Over-priced and outdated.Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: Located close the the city centre.
Cons: A bell man to handle baggage would be useful, but most of all the bathroom requires renovation.
Location: Short walk from shops and restaurants. Airport shuttle office behind hotel.
You really pay for the location and I mean really pay! The room was in need of renovation, particularly the bathroom. No bellman to handle baggage on arrival and no concierge on hand.

Close to barsPosted May 21, 2015
The hotel was well positioned with the bars being in the street behind the hotel. Hotel location is suited to people who are after night life. Those with children or prefer a quiet drink would be better off near the Adina appartments where the wave pool and restaurants are. Stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment which was well equiped. Lounge was old and worn. Looks like it needs to be replaced. View to harbour was excellent. Balcony fits 2 chairs which awkwardly is right next to the appartments next door. Not so good if they are out there smoking. Overall was a nice place that needs a new lounge.

Backpackers at your back door!Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Shade of the tree by our balcony. Access through to CBD.
Cons: Attitude of reception staff, update accommodation.
Location: Darwin is very small, so any accommodation in the CBD is handy.
My husband and I have travelled worldwide, and were sadly disappointed with this four day stay. Mediocre welcome by reception, with no information offered regarding parking fees or hotel amenities until asked. The room was clean and comfortable enough, but outdated and overpriced. A tray of dirty breakfast dishes on the hallway floor greeted us as we stepped out of the elevator to go to our room, and that's where it stayed until our departure. Be aware there is a Backpackers Hostel in Peel Street directly next door that plays very loud music from early afternoon until early morning every day. City side of the Mantra arches towards the Backpackers, so if you're looking for peace and quiet after a big day out, best ask for accommodation at the opposite end higher up if choosing a city view. If looking for a party, ask for room 120 or 119 on the first floor, as you'll be right amongst it!! Overall.. overpriced and in need of a facelift, money would be better spent elsewhere.

Excellent locationPosted May 1, 2015
Good quality aparthotel in very central location. 1 bed apart very well fitted out with washer and dryer for convenience. Staff are excellent at this property, very helpful and we were able to leave both luggage and items in a safe deposit box while we were on a 2 day trip to Kakadu.

Lovely hotel, close to everything.Posted Apr 25, 2015
Lovely hotel with great facilities. We stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy. The view of the harbour was beautiful and was worth paying the nominal extra for a room with a harbour view, but next time, I'd opt for a balcony. We found the bed to be very comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room itself. The hotel was well situated. I'd definitely stay there again.

Comfortable hotel with great views of harbourPosted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The location The staff The restaurant bar & swimming pool The availability of bike hire on site
Cons: Some areas could do with a repaint
Location: Close to shopping & entertainment & parks for walking cycling or just sitting & relaxing The bus transit centre is just out the rear door
We stayed at the Mantra for 10 nights . It is in an ideal position in central Darwin within walking distance of the main entertainment & shopping areas . It is opposite Bicentennial Park which is ideal for walking & cycling . The staff were polite & nothing was too much trouble for them

Great location. Great pool. Staff need a shake up!Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Pool and location. Great views from balcony.
Location: Close to the main Street of Darwin and shopping. Close to lots of eating places and an easy walk to harbour side district.
Overall we had a great stay but we were disappointed by a few things. Over the 10 days we were there the breakfast buffet was lacking. The hot food had run out and we had to wait for refills. Same with coffee. It's hard to understand why they can't plan ahead in the kitchen. The chef and staff were unfriendly. Sour sad faces all morning. On checkout we were asked to check our account and found that we had been double charged for room AND car parking. The reception person said that's why they ask clients to check their accounts. Apparently the computer makes these errors a lot. It would have been very easy for is to have paid DOUBLE and never been wiser. You shouldn't have to assume your account is wrong and check it with a fine tooth comb!

Close to allPosted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly
Cons: see my comment above about power points
Location: close to shops, bars and the bus pickup point is just outside the back door if your taking any trips
I arrived very very early which threw the desk staff for a few minutes, but once I explained I only wanted to leave my large luggage they couldn't have been more helpful. My room was made ready well ahead of normal check-in time, even though it was supposed to be a city room I was at the side of the hotel with views of the city and the Harbor too. The room was very large and well appointed even had a charger for 4 different mobile devices, clean and tidy about the only thing I could possibly say bad was the lack of power point near the beds. I said to the young lady at the check-out " I have stayed in some very nice hotels world wide and this is one of the nicest"
