"Stay here was great, we got upgraded to suite which was perfect especially having 2 young kids who need space to move around. The views from the room were amazing, you could see the whole of lake biwa and even the city. The location was walking distance to the supermarket/shops/parks, and even had a its own little convience store at the bottom. I would highly recommend if you are staying in the area."

"Awesome Onsen. Quick check in. The two open air mineral baths were clean, comfortable and relaxing. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. On the 11th floor the afternoon and evening it was gently raining and sitting in the Onsen with rain coming down made me feel one with the rain and hot water. "We didn't want to leave. Stayed for two nights and wished we had booked for longer. Amazing hospitality and amenities, we had a room with a private bath on the balcony. Kaiseki dinners were fabulous albeit slightly confusing with our minimal Japanese language skills, but the staff went out of their way to explain and help us have a great meal. Breakfasts were also good, and the shuttle bus to and from the train station was much appreciated."

"I loved loved my room was perfect Had a great sleep. Amazing view. Staff were polite and great. Only issue was my son and his friend are cycleing on this trip. They brought their bikes inside to a designated location per staff but someone got in theire and stole some of their tools and lowered the seats etc Was to be a secure spot so that was disappointing. Reported the next morning. "

"The shuttle to pickup/drop off to and from Ogoto Onsen Station was great; otherwise, it would be a 10 minutes walk with luggage! Our tatami room was very traditional and offered a great view of the lake. Only downside is no blackout curtain so the room is nice and BRIGHT at 6 o'clock in the morning! The 10-course (I think) dinner was interesting and filling; it took us 2 1/2 hours to finish. One note though, the massage was not very pleasant but then again, the appointment was 10pm so I...
