Nice Hotel
Nice hotel but some areas looking a little tired and ready for a refresh. Room was small but OK. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and food was excelent.

Couldn’t open windows or change temperature of room,which was too hot for us. Only one towel for two people (only discovered later at night and didn’t want to go down stairs to ask for another)

Nice and quiet area to base our Edinburgh explorations. The front desk staff were exceptional with hints for our further travels around Scotland

Great stay
Great stay, very helful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and room extremely clean . Only let down was a rip in the head board of our room. Not a huge issue but didn't look great appearance wise. There was a wedding on during our stay which did not affect us at all with regards to late noise. Would definately recommend and would return.

When i booked I didn't realize it was out of Edinburgh, kinda long bus trip but as soon as we arrived we loved the place. The staff was amazing in accommodating us early, although busy with a wedding. The room was very clean and the food was amazing. Highly recommended!

Dirty, poor service in restaurant. Uncomfortable bed. Unbelievable noise from a wedding even after it finished with fighting and drinking in the car park. Probably the worst hotel ive ever stayed in.

Lovely hotel within half an hour of Edinburgh airport. Plenty of free parking too. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend if you need to be near the airport without paying ridiculous airport hotel prices

The room was clean and tidy, however, there was no kettle and tea bags for tea.. The breakfast was not the usual buffet but arather limited choice (photo), one had to order the hot breakfast from the menu. One would think it would make it individually for each customer reducing food waste, however, they forgot to bring my bacon and brought too many mushrooms even I'd asked for just a bit of mushrooms When I asked for the cheese/meet platter, they brought a plate of grated cheddar cheese and a few slices of processed ham, which was rather disappointing as compared to other Best Western hotels we stayed at.

Staff make or break a stay.
As with many hotels, the staff make or break the stay. In the case of the Hilcroft, the staff made it. The food was quality and reasonably priced, well done chef!

Great stay, no negatives. Will return!!
Nice Hotel, staff were great - in particular the reception lady was very nice, interacted and chatted with us and remembered our surnames at breakfast which was nice. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent - again the server went over and above. Breakfast - we all agreed - one of the best hotel breakfast we have had. Rooms were clean, decent size. No negatives from our stay and we will return.

All areas of the hotel were well presented and clean. The room we had was at the front of the hotel looking out onto the busy main road but you would not think it as the traffic noise was minimal. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and cannot fault the food at all. Very pleasant stay, will be back!!
