awesome hotelPosted May 21, 2014
Pros: location hotel restaurant staff the hotel building and rooms
Cons: towels pillows
Location: all kind of mountain hiking tourist crap like the famous waterfall - go hiking instead!
We stayed for three nights. The restaurant at the hotel was great, so we had all our breakfasts and diners there. The prices were reasonable and we wouldn't have saved any money by driving somewhere else. There is all kinds of mountain hiking to be done. I recommend going in late Jun - Sep so all of the trails are open. The town the hotel is small and picturesque. But there is still a bank and grocery store close by. The shower is the room was awesome. The pillows in the room were terrible. So were the towels. It was weird that everything was great and then they had these terrible towels and pillows. The internet was slow, but it worked and was included. Overall this was an awesome place and the price was right.

Great start/finish for Grossglockner drive!Posted Sep 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel part was great. Good beds, clean everywhere, nice people, good location at the bottom of the Grossglockner, nice views from the room. It was unfortunate that the restaurant didn't have the same standards. At dinner, the waiter was very rude and the food was awful. The breakfast was as bad. We showed up at 9:00 and there was almost nothing left... and what was left was dry and disgusting. We would go again for the location and the rooms, but we wouldn't eat there again .

Quiet and charmingPosted Aug 24, 2010
This is a great hotel, friendly English speaking staff and very attentive. There were 3 of us in one room and the room was spacious and clean. We had a view of the mountains from our room with a babbling brook that lulled us to sleep at night. The full breakfast was average but the lunch and dinners were superb. This is a small quiet town with very little to do but if you want to go to the Grossglockner mountain and glacier this hotel is perfect. We definitely would stay here again.
