It was very quiet and peaceful at night and during the day as well. It was nice to have a dishwasher in a cabin. We drove to Grayson Highlands and hiked 2 different days. We went the 2nd day to see the ponies! The hot tub was very relaxing. It was also nice to sit out on the porch on the rocking chairs. There is another cabin next door but we only had neighbors on 1 night of our 4 night stay. Very relaxing and one of the best cabins we've stayed in. The wifi in cabin was excellent. We were able to power 2 laptops and 2 phones. You could see the moon and stars from the hot tub. We've stayed at a few cabins in our home state in WV, but this one was quite lovely and we both loved staying here. If you want to unwind in the woods, with some modern convenience....like having wifi, dishwasher, washer/dryer...this is the cabin for you. Very close to border of Virginia and a few state parks. 30 minutes to grocery stores. One of the most relaxing vacations I've had....and we got to see wild ponies at the park.

We loved this cozy cabin
We had a great weekend stay. The cabin was clean, and well equipped with what we needed. The only thing it lacked was enough towels. We could only find 3 bath towels which was a bit difficult between hot tub visits, showers, and 4 bodies. Otherwise, everything was great. The kids loved all the toys and movies. We would love to return.

Nice stay, dogs loved it
The inside of the Cabin is nice and was clean. The second cabin on the property is right next door. We looked forward to the creek but the Cabin is on top of a big hill so you have to walk pretty much straight down and hike back up. Back porch is nice and private and enjoyed rocking chairs. Sunsets were nice also.

Great cabin
We enjoyed our weekend at this cute cabin. Kids (8 & 10) loved the hot tub and painting set. Nice to have closed-in porch for the dog. While driveway is steep, it's paved so we had no problems, even in the rain. Loved all the amenities at the cabin - dishwasher, washer/dryer, linens, paper products, all soaps, cookware, pantry Staples, etc. Even though there's a cabin next door, it still felt private. Great communication from owner. We enjoyed exploring around the property, would have gone done to the creek if we had better weather. Went to W Jefferson for dinner and shopping. Definitely check out Ashe Co cheese factory! Slice WJ was yummy pizza. Also highly recommend Grayson Highlands St park in VA to see wild ponies! We loved the house and will be back.

Trouble!
Immediately upon arrival, my husband noticed that the shower curtain was mildewy and covered in buildup. Owner notified and it was replaced. After going into town to eat we came back and was able to check out the rest of the cabin. In short, I had to clean the counters, end tables with sticky cup rings, the sofa even had to be cleaned before sitting on it. It was covered with dirt and food crumbs. The bathroom had to be cleaned before using the toilet or taking a shower. I definitely didn't drive 8 hours and pay hundreds of dollars to have to do some major cleaning before going to bed on day One. The hot tub had a fishy odor and a greenish tint. The water level was low so I felt like it had not been sanitized either. We got in touch with VRBO and learned that our go to person actually owned this cabin. She refused to communicate verbally but we texted back and forth. Was not impressed. I spent my 35th wedding anniversary in what we expected to be a great get away but was actually a disappointment. The housekeeper did come to clean and take care of the hot tub. She and her husband were extremely apologetic and were very sweet. I will not rent this cabin again and if you do then good luck!

Comfortable and Quiet
My husband and I spent our anniversary here and it was quite nice. The house has everything you need. We really enjoyed the rocking chair porch, the wood stove, and the hot tub. The driveway was a little intense, and the location was farther out than we expected, but the drive to anywhere was gorgeous so we didn't mind.

Enjoyable & Pleasant family stay
Stayed with family for 3 days. It was peaceful, cost effective and restful. Kids usually search for electronic toys, this was different. We were skeptical of how to keep kids occupied, but there were plenty boardgames. They had fun on hot tub as well. The sink wasnt cleaned well when we entered and some clothes were left inside washer. Other than that very pleasant stay. Overall plesant stay

We wanted some time away from the busyness of our lives and this is just what we needed! The road going up to the cabin was VERY steep, so you will need an AWD vehicle. It was so quiet and peaceful- definitely recommend!! And we brought our fur baby too!

Rustic remote cabin
My husband and I have stayed in the Harvest Moon cabin next door twice before. Once in 2009 and once in 2017. This was our first stay in the Blue Moon cabin. They're mostly the same with only a few differences. This one is more tucked into the trees. The cleanliness of the cabin could be better (I felt compelled to go out and buy cleaner for the sink) but for the price it was ok. Just don't come here expecting 5-star accommodations. It's a very rustic and remote cabin. The driveway is pretty scary and It's quite a drive to the nearest gas stations and grocery stores so make sure you come with what you need.. It was nice not having to bring linens or paper products.. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Cabin!
We stayed at this cabin for two nights on our road trip home to Virginia from Georgia. We have stayed in many cabins in the past but this one by far was the nicest one we have ever been to! Very clean and neat, has everything you’d ever need plus the owner provided us a vehicle to get up the driveway since we done have 4WD which made everything seamless. We enjoyed being up in the woods and yet near enough to town to get anything we needed. Lots of good local hiking trails too. Would highly recommend!

Tucked in the trees
While the creek runs through the owner's property, the house is not on the creek. The cabin is tucked up a steep, gravel road and nestled in beautiful trees. I especially loved the white pines. A twin rental cabin is right next door. We could hear and see turkeys and deer. It was very nice to have the fully enclosed deck so that our dogs had a place to be without running off. We stayed here to be in driving distance of Grayson Highland and the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Secluded Cozy Cabin
We absolutely loved the cabin. Beautiful property and the driveway was my husband's favorite part 😂 We only had a couple of minor issues...we couldn't get the front door to lock and there were no blinds, we ended up hanging a towel over the door for privacy....the DVD player didn't work....no big deal...we went and bought a cheap DVD player and a bluetooth speaker (would be a nice touch to add a stereo or speaker of some type) Overall, we had a fabulous time and would definitely like to come back!

Happy Highland Getaway
Our stay at Lingael Farm was absolutely wonderful. Though the path up to the cabin was treacherous and I did not realize the two cabins were right next to each other, the location was fantastic. Remote enough and surrounded by natural beauty, but within 30 mins of everything we needed (groceries, restaurants, Grayson Highlands, and Virginia Creeper Trail at Whitetop Station). And April was quite helpful when needed. I highly suggest exploring this neck of the woods (especially in the Fall!) and Lingael Farm cabins is the perfect place to do it.

Perfect getaway!!!!
Highly recommend a four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway. The owners do have a couple vehicles they do let you use if you don’t have one though which is great. My family loved the cabin. The fishing in the area is outstanding. The location was good for us. It’s only about a 20 minute drive to local restaurants, bars, and shops. There are also a few state parks close which are both great for site seeing and hiking. The owners were very informative about everything. Overall I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

Secluded getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The property is very remote and we enjoyed sitting on the back deck listening to nature. Access to the river was great and private. My kids really enjoyed getting out in nature and unplugging. I appreciate that this property is also dog friendly. Grayson Highlands State Park is a short and beautiful drive, we spent the morning there and the afternoon at the river. They are not kidding when they say you need 4 wheel drive to get up to the cabin! The kitchen could use a deep clean, I ended up wiping down the shelves in the refrigerator with disinfecting spray I brought and placing paper towels down on the shelves because it was so dirty. There was evidence of mice droppings inside some of the kitchen drawers. We washed any utensils and dishes before we used them for good measure. We also acknowledged this place is in the middle of nowhere and rodents are bound to get in, still a little elbow grease would improve the cleanliness. The bathroom faucet was broken but usable and the sink clogged a bit. The owner was super quick to respond to several messages from me and even dropped extra trash bags when we ran out. The area speaks for itself, it really felt like a slower pace and it was so easy to relax and unwind while in the Grassy Creek area. Like some of the other reviews stated, the photos give the appearance the river is closer than it is but we didn’t mind driving down to it. There is another cabin next door and I think some of the photos in this listing are from that cabin. It appears to be the same size and layout with a few minor differences. We would definitely come visit the Grassy Creek area again.
