"Good value, good location, friendly staff."
Booked into the Dalmaji for eight nights. Main reason for visiting South Korea was to attend my friend's wedding, but turned the trip into a holiday too - would be a shame not to, given that I'd come all the way from Scotland!
The Dalmaji is less than five minutes walk from the wedding venue, which was super-convenient, tucked up a little side-street a stones throw from Haeundae beach - had a view of the beach from the room window. :)
Décor is a little bit kitsch - flowery curtains and butterfly wallpaper - but totally inoffensive. The room was clean, and came with a widescreen TV, computer with internet (plus free wifi, throughout the hotel), kettle, tea/coffee, mini fridge, towels and the bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries as well.
Although the staff didn't speak a lot of English, they knew enough, and certainly more than I knew of Korean..! Really friendly and smiley, and helpful.
The room might be on the small side for some tastes, but not cramped, and totally adequate for myself and my friend from Taiwan, who joined me for a few days.
Twenty-four hour reception, and they always check with you on your way out if you want your room cleaned or not that day.
I don't know what the standard rate for hotels is in South Korea, but as far as my friend and I were concerned, what we paid was really reasonable, especially given how close the hotel is to the beach.
