Hongcheon is located some 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Seoul, the national capital, and about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Sokcho.
Traveling through this part of South Korea should be an adventure, so be sure to take to the road and visit a few of the other towns and cities in the vicinity of Hongcheon. Journey 15 miles (24 kilometers) southeast to Chuncheon, where you can check out the Chuncheon Civil Stadium and Animationa Museum.
Seoul is around 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Hongcheon. This regional center offers a great selection of things to see and do, such as Yongsan Electronics Market, Seoul Forest and Samsung Tower Palace. Yi Sun-sin (Lee Sun-shin), Gyeongbok Palace and Seoul National University are some more attractions that should be on everyone's itinerary.
