"I loved everything about Riad Hikaya but mostly the staff who work there who really went out of their way to make me feel like a part of the family. I felt they wanted me to be there. It was so convenient to get everywhere I wanted to get to in Marrakech and just minutes away from the square. The riad is absolutely beautiful. Make sure you set aside some time to relax in the pool and/or lounge on the rooftop. "

We got a very small and very dark room with a small window facing some back ruins while our friends got a room which was twice bigger, brighter, with a nicer bathroom and view for the same price. When we approached the front desk lady to find out if she made a mistake she offered that we pay more for an upgrade instead of paying us back for a room that we obviously overpaid for. "This place is very nice. The staff is extremely kind and all of them seemed genuinely happy. The food was some of the best I have ever had. To put more perspective, we ate at a Michelin star restaurant in Amsterdam a few days before arriving in Morrocco. The chef at the Riad Dar Alfarah could easily hold her own against a Michelin star chef, it was that good. We ordered the Lamb and the Moroccan Pastilla. "

"Riad Aliya felt like our home for 6 nights. I don't normally write reviews but I compelled after staying in other riad's in Morocco, we really began to appreciate how amazing this one was. It was mainly the humble hospitality we received from the hotel manager (very genuine man) that made it all worth the stay. The hotel room was very clean and best of all had heat. We went in the end of December, which was quite chilly especially at night. "

"Not a true riad...no garden, no open area to the roof, only a very small fountain in the eating area. There were no management members on premises and when I attempted to check out it took over 1 hour to straighten out a bill (with the help of Hotels.com) as I had already prepaid the entire stay but the workers there said I only paid a small deposit.
