Friendly and helpful in a pocket of paradise!

We stayed in a deluxe villa with private pool for a week. On arrival we got in quite late so the concierge offered us a complimentary sandwich and fresh tropical fruit as the hotel restaurant had already shut for the night. Checkin was smooth and easy, and the concierge assistant walked us to our villa to show us all of the amenities - very attentive. The breakfast was nice - the view and serenity of the beachfront was lovely. The breakfast meals inclusive of our booking however were very small, and "interpretations" of the western meals they suggest. Couldn't fault the taste, nor service in the restaurant, but to enjoy do let go of expectations in terms of what normal Eggs Benedict for instance would be like. The villa is large and spacious, very peaceful. The pool is simple but large enough to enjoy, and they clean it everyday. The bed is comfy and clean, bath is huge and the flow of the villa is well thought out. The day spa onsite is lovely. Very clean, luxurious, private and relaxing. Extremely welcoming staff. Be careful of the ladies trying to upgrade you to much larger packages that you can spread over the length of your stay by offering discounts. We were going to go to the day spa nearly everyday anyway, so wasn't unwelcomed, however they did put us on the spot to lock in packages there and then - was a little overwhelming. The private driver of the resort was a huge plus as the location is a 20 min drive away from Chaweng and Lamai. Loved every bit of our stay!

Faded ideas of grandeur

Overall, a reasonably comfortable place to stay for a few days to rest & recuperate. Rooms are very good size and the area where the hotel is situated is in a much quieter part of Koh Samui, away from the cheap beer'n'pole dancing of both Chaweng and Lamai. Rooms were kept clean, although we had some intermittent plumbing problems. The pool is nice size, the restaurant where also the breakfast is served has a nice beach-front location; the downside of this is that at times it was also a bit too windy. Service was good, but not 5*, the ability of staff to speak English was quite varied. Breakfast was ok, even if it did not blow our minds away and became quite repetitive after a week. With books and DVDs, this is a nice place to be away from the busyness of everyday life.

Location: really quiet, only one resort next to it but seemed like there was nothing around. next shop reachable by 5 min cycle ride
had an amazing time, staff really friendly (but sometimes a bit slow and didn't understand english well so took some time to get some things across - but it was sweet rather than annoying)

nice facility but needs maintenance

beautiful architecture and nice pool villa but NO hot water and apple tv having problems! Staff was responsive to our complains but not much they can do with hot water unless management do something about the system! There was renovation works during our stay just before christmas which we didnt expect! The staff Vasco was very initiated to do something good for the hotel but lets see if management supports. Nice music in the AV system. Love the CD gift. Breakfast is good. Sangria night is good treat. Beach is average. With maintenance the hotel has good potential

Pros: Private Pool
Location: Quiet and away from the hussle and bussle
This was one of the best weeks of my life. This hotel is fantastic. The pool villas are incredible, giving you beautiful privacy. The main pool is breathtaking, and the restaurant serve delicious food at reasonable prices. The Thai food was gorgeous, I'm not sure about the western food, although I'm sure it's good, if you are the type of person who goes to Thailand to eat pizza......
