Expensive for nothing say away

Posted Aug 24, 2014
This place is excellent from the points of nature and beach. But the hotel rooms are old and The furniture need to be changed. I took a Jacuzzi room with beach view which was expensive, however The jacuzzi was extremely dirty and the water was yellow. it was not as expected. Also I called them to send me some one to connect my hdmi to the tv, the room service laughed at me and say it was the first time she heard about that. The tv was locked so you cannot connect your laptop or dvd player to it. Also the Internet wasn't working in my room, they send someone to fixed it couple of times but it wasn't fixed. There are also alot of mosquitoes and insects in this place . They should realy take a better care of the place. Overall the view is nice but the room is realy bad.

Disappointed. Never again.

Pros: Staffs
Cons: Maintenance of facilities and narrow small beach.
Location: Nothing. Better to hire a car.
Only staffs are okay as the 3 star hotel... Hotel facilities seems to be without proper maintenance for several years. I am sure there is not control of Sheraton. Top management of Sheraton should visit this hotel. I am not surprised if he faint away.

Ideal Honeymoon destination, quiet and very serene

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The natural outlook , the Komoto Dragon and wild monkeys roaming around, the Captain's Grill restaurant on the beach.
Cons: Please invest and refurbish the property, as it doesn't justify the Sheraton brand name.
Location: There are couple of things to do like Crocodile park, waterfalls, yacht club for the rest you have to travel far. Its very near to the airport.

Dissapointing for a Sheraton

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Was majorily let down by this place, room was very outdated and has poor wifi. Poor choose of activities on resort with the worst seafood restaurant captain grill. Had bird droppings on chair and looked liked it hadn't been visited by people in uesrs. Getting from room to lobby bit problematic as you need to wait for a old rusty trsnport van. Very hilly and means and night walking is not safe.

Quiet and exclusive neighbourhood

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Reasonably priced and quiet beautiful environment with large pool and gym. Unfortunately very little beach assess and swimming in the sea is not advised due to rocky conditions. Few water sports available. Food is very pricy and location is not near to restaurants outside of the hotel. However, quality of hotel food is good. Rental car is essential as the remote location makes it difficult to get taxi.

Hotel had a nice view of the beach but...

Posted Jul 14, 2014
The property was poorly maintained. Holes in the ceiling, malfunctioning outdoor lights, boardwalk appeared unsafe, building exterior not well maintained. Lobby and room furniture old and soiled.

Pros: Location is near town. Close to beach.
Cons: Room cleaness mostly.
Location: It is near the town, but you really need to rent a car. There's not so much thing to do inside the hotel.
Near the town. Need a rental car. There's no good restaurant inside. Room is not clean. But overall, it's reasonable, and easier way to enjoy langkawi.

hotel on the beach

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: amazing contact with nature, friendly monkeys families everywhere! Very nice and professional staff.
Cons: the hotel needs a serious makeover or to price down their services.
Location: the hotel is a bit isolated but you can book tours at the lobby. in 20 minutes you will get to the main busy areas. the taxi services are reliable.
we stayed 5 nights and got an upgrade to a Jacuzzi bungalow which was a nice surprise. The bungalows are quite distant from the main building/breakfast area and we were dependent on the buggy service which worked randomly. we ended up walking almost all the times and although the surroundings are beautiful it is tiring. We had some troubles with electricity in the bungalow which were immediately fixed by a very helpful and polite staff member. The staff in this hotel are well trained and very helpful but the hotel looks quite ran down and you can only imagine how it was in the past. There are closed down bungalows, highly priced empty restaurants with surprisingly extremely good quality food (the grill). During our stay the majority of the guests were from Saudi Arabia and Dubai, young Muslim couples with the women wearing full burkas. Although we do respect other peoples believes with all our heart, it was a cultural shock for us. To be surrounded by these ladies while we were bathing in our western bathing suits in the swimming pool, was extremely uncomfortable. We felt we were imposing our presence to them. My wife as a woman, felt particularly exposed and ended up covering herself in different occasions in order to don't make others feel uncomfortable. Malaysia is not a radical Muslim country. It has a diversity of religions and embrace them all. We were not prepared for this.
