While it may be tempting to just kick back and relax when visiting Llano, remember, the surrounding region's treasure-trove of natural sights, cities and towns are never more than a day trip away. Horseshoe Bay, is 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northwest, and Burnet can be found 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the west.
When you come to Llano, head to Fredericksburg. Approximately 35 miles (56 kilometers) away, this regional city is home to National Museum of the Pacific War, Chisholm Trail Winery and Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. If you have time to spare, visit Fort Martin Scott Historic Site, Torre Di Pietra Vineyards and Fredericksburg Winery before you return to Llano.
