Cons: Better control of the parking lot
Good location and service is very nice, but the breakfast is very poor and the hotel is a little old.

Nice Lobby Squeaky bed like one in the movie!

Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: Full Kitchen and nice lobby
Cons: Room, TV, Bed, Bed, Bed, Bed and Bed
Location: Mann's Chinese Theater, Dolby Theater, Hollywood Bowl, Universal Studio Hollywood
Only nice part of the hotel is the lobby. The room they assigned us was facing the street which was always noisy until 10:30ish. Very spacious with full kitchen including full size refrigerator. The TV was old 15 inch Tube and the room style is mid 70s. The worst part was the bed... It was most squeaky bed I have slept in!! Really makes me wonder how that bed makes that noise!! Its like the one you saw in the movie I didn't think such bed exist but I have actually encoutered one at this hotel.... For the price and location it is very economical and convenient hotel but definately need remodeling for some of the rooms. Its walking distance to Chinese Theater and Dolby Theater. Very close to the Hollywood Bowl and just 10 to 15 min drive to the Universal Studio Hollywood! I suggest you to stay this hotel for the place to sleep in but check the bed first :-) Also I would like to mention that they have an underground parking which is very nice yet bit tight but managable.

Will NOT be back

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Beds were decent, nothing great. Air conditioner worked and was not too noisy.
Cons: The rooms are in dire need of renovation.
Location: Only a couple blocks from Sunset. Walk to the Hollywood Bowl was decent. Took about 15 minutes.
Tight parking, slow sevice, and a "vintage" (that means OLD and in need of REPAIR) room that smelled stale and musty. The carpet was stained and loose, the microwave stuck on top of the dorm fridg was supposed to be a kitchenette, the tile in the bathroom was dirty, cracked and then there was the shower. Tiny to say the least, with only one soap holder. Drain rusted and broken, extra unfinished knob sticking out, tile cracked and recalked many times. Only one person could use the bathroom at a time. Amenities were lacking, only soap and shampoo. No lotion. Really think they should renovate their rooms to a "decent" standard. We will not be staying here again.

Great Modernist Space, But needs Upgrades

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: The ambiance and location
Cons: The Internet is very spotty; impossible to get most of the time in the rooms; the furnishings are very outdated; the bathroom has little storage space
The garden is beautiful and we had a lovely and comfortable balcony with a great view.

Would not reccomend.

Posted May 21, 2015
So dissapointing. The hotel staff was consistently very rude. Continental breakfast breads & coffee. Rooms are outdated & very old. Showers are VERY small, was a tight squeeze for me at 5'4 120 pds. Seems all updates were of lobby area only. Traffic noise was hard to sleep through. Location is only positive at Highland Gardens.

Old Hotel close to Hollywood attractions

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Good location
Cons: The continental breakfast was not great; only coffee and toast and pastry. No yogurt, eggs, etc.
Location: Hollywood Walk of fame, Chinese Theater,Dolby theater, madame Tussauds and much more.
We picked this hotel because it was close to my son's apartment. We came to town for a short visit and to see a ballgame. This hotel is a bit dated and a little rough around the edges. When we opened the door to our room the first thing we noticed was a large stain on the rug. Everything else about the room was ok. Lot's of room in the suite with a kitchenette. There was a large walk-in closet. We were in room 106 on the ground floor. There is a patio with 2 chairs.

Near Magic Castle

Posted May 1, 2015
Pros: It was close to where we wanted to be.
Cons: Needs a new TV.
Location: It's within walking distance of the Magic Castle, Chinese Theater and Pantages on Hollywood Blvd.
We chose this hotel because of its very close proximity to the Magic Castle. It's an older hotel and some remodeling has been done. The bed was squeaky and it needed a new TV, but other than that it was very pleasant.
