Nice Hotel close to old Pasenda

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Location
The hotel is pretty nice and is in a nice neighbourhood. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our two kids enjoyed the pool...it is not an Olympic sized pool but it was comfortable enough since it was not crowded. The rooms were pretty decent (standard double bed size). We did not do much in Pasenda other than dine at the establishments nearby but overall, the neighbourhood is safe and nice.

Not Accommodating for the price.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
For 400$ a night, I found that the hotel was ridiculously un-accommodating. The room we had contained two queen beds which seriously took up the entire room. We had to climb over one.of.The beds just to get to the coffee machine and.ended up spilling everywhere. Even though I told them we would have four people in the room they only gave us one robe..I've worked front desk for a few years, so I know how boring it can.be working at one in the morning, but this lady that check us in(can't remember but her nametag said she had a passion for service and it made me laugh a little) looked at me like I had two heads and talked to me as such.. I did come straight from a concert so I probably looked a little crazy but she didn't have to make it so obvious. The gentleman on the other hand (his nametag said he had a passion for music) was really nice and made jokes with us, so I focused on him and ignored the mean one..After we checked in the girl just told me the room number and didn't ask us if we needed.assistance or even tell us how to get to the room. Very unprofessional.. The pool was super small even though you advertised how great the pool is on.your website. Nice fitness center though, but that seems to be all you have going for you.. I was so excited to stay at The Westin Pasadena and The outcome was so disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your perspective having once been on this side of the desk. I regret that you did not feel welcomed to our hotel. I apologize on behalf of the female associate, but am glad that your encounter with her co-worker was a better encounter. I am happy that you enjoyed the Westin Workout facility. I hope that your disappointment does not keep you from returning to our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back so that you can have a great experience with us.

Bed type not gurentee!!!

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Cons: If you can't gruentee the room type, don't show it and don't charge the difference!!
I booked a 2 beds room but when I came to the front desk, they told me the 2 beds room were sold out and I can only get a king with rollaway bed!!!. I paid extra money through expedia for the 2 beds room but it is still not gurentee. My friend had to slept on a rollaway bed and it is really unconfortabel. We have to check out early because my friend really don't want to sleep in a rollaway bed for 3 nights. Since is none refundable, it is total a waste of money. The hotel is ok but I will never book it through expedia, maybe any hotel through expedia. None refundabel and bed type not gurentee. Spent almost 800 for 2 nights. I am really disappointed.

Thank you for your comments. Although we cannot guarantee bed type selection we do our best to honor all requests but when the property is fully occupied it is not always possible. I apologize that we were not able to give you a room with two beds on this trip and I sympathize with your frustrations. I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Westin Pasadena to provide you with a much better experience.

Good location, Friendly Staff and Service

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Location, Fitness Center, Responsive staff
Cons: Parking: $14/day for valet or $9/every exit if self-parked. Make self-parking more reasonable.
Location: Good central downtown location. Close to freeway on-ramp and easy walk to Old Town.
Originally booked Courtyard Marriott in Old Town but their A/C was too loud. Their old room unit kept us from sleeping at night. So we booked Westin last minute through Expedia, and the hotel was very accommodating. Friendly staff. Good location. We had a comfortable stay. Lovely facilities with a well-equipped fitness center, a small pool, and a shuttle. CPK and McCormick & Schmick were adjacent to the hotel. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning, and brought up things very quickly most of the time. It was either quick or never - we had to call twice for a roll-away, then again for bedding. Parking was inconvenient though: $14/day for valet or $9/every exit if self-parked. We like to self-park for easy accessibility and not wanting to wait when the valets are busy. But $9 for every exit made us go with valet. One night we forgot the camera in the car but couldn't get to it. And every time we wanted the car we had to call in advance then wait for the car. But the valets were very professional and friendly.

Formerly great, badly in need of change

Room condition is very deteriorated. The carpet had many stains and fraying. It seems like Westin doesn't know quite what to do with this property since it was converted from a Doubletree. Parking is horrible.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that you found the conditions of the hotel not up to your expected standards. The hotel converted to a Westin in 2004, 10 years ago. Since that time, we have undergone several renovations and upgrades. The most recent room renovation was in 2011, by the Westin design team and we are scheduled for another renovation in 2015. General carpet cleaning is performed every day in the hotel. I am sorry that you observed carpet that was in disrepair. In regard to the parking, Our parking is owned and operated but the City of Pasadena. I apologize you felt as though it was terrible, Thank you again for sharing your feedback and I hope you will visit us again.

Amazing hotel in Pasadena- close to dowtown LA

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Modern, clean and friendly staff. Still very close to downtown LA and all the sites that one would want to see!
Cons: Service in the restaurant was a little slow and the server didn't seem to well versed in the menu. But the food was fine and the patio was amazing.
Location: Very close to downtown Pasadena- you can walk and or take the free shuttle. Shopping and restaurants were all located on one street.
My husband and I love staying at any SPG propteries and was delighted to see that there happened to be a Westin in Pasadena! Upon our arrival all the hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was modern, clean and close to all the Pasadena amenities. The hotel room was spacious, clean and had great views of old town. The pool and workout area is something that all guests need to experience. We felt that we were at a spa the whole time! The restaurant was very nice and had reasonable prices. I recommend sitting on the patio! They have a shuttle that can take you to downtown (was free) and they were very helpful in helping you in restaurant selections and tourist locations.
