Well situated B&B
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Pros: Location. Good size room. Nice breakfast.
Location: In the heart of Mendocino. Couldn't be better.
Great location. We stayed in the upstairs room -- sofa bed and king's size bed. It worked well for my daughter and me. The room was comfortable and quiet. Great view out to the ocean,

Very, very small room

Room # 6- A Queen bed was promised in B&B info but a double was what existed which made for a tight fit and a restless night. Brent, the manager was very nice and helpfull, also good breakfast.

Pros: decent breakfast
Cons: noise, innkeeper's attitude
Location: next to Cafe Beaujolais--excellent dining
We choose the "Russian Rose Room," which is of a size that should be described as a very tight fit for two persons. Furniture was crowded into it to accommodate two--two stuffed chairs so that guests could breakfast in their room when there was no room in the community/breakfast room. The slant of the roof was such that you could not sit up in bed without banging your head. Lighting is dim to the point of inadequacy. Throw rugs on the floor were curled and a hazard for tripping. Walls are thin and there is no meaningful noise barrier between the rooms. We happened to be there during a wind and rain storm. The window in the room rattled so loudly that it kept us awake all night. When we mentioned the problem to Brent, one of the two innkeepers, other guests joined in. Brent suggested we shim the window ourselves! When we mentioned that it was not really our responsibility, he did it himself, but clearly thought we should have saved him the trouble.

Great Location!
Posted Jan 27, 2012
Pros: Location
Cons: Other occupant noise.
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location! The bed was super comfy, there was a good amount of space in the room and the shower was large. The only draw-back was the noise coming through the adjoining room door from the other hotel occupants. It would also be nice if the management was more vegan friendly by including soy or rice milk and other dairy and egg free items on their breakfast offerings. I'd still recommend this hotel overall.

We had a great stay. Everything from the room, cleanliness, mattress, breakfast, parking, walking distance to downtown - all excellent. We couldn't ask for better. Thanks very much..
