Overall it is a nice hotel
The hotel is nice and the staff is friendly, however we have terrible WIFI in our room. First we were told it was because of the rain but it didn't improve on very clear and cloudless days.

Desk staff, restaurant and security assistance all were amazng. Breakfast was excellent! Parking :( is good if you do not arrive back to hotel late.

good hotel but terrible restaurant
clean ,quiet Mexican style hotel.good location.nice pool. DO NOT pay extra for the breakfast . The service in the restaurant was terrible and the food mediocre. It has gone way down hill since my last visit when it was a nice little buffet.

I would definitely comeback, the only negative comments I have is the bed was a little to firm for me, and the tv didn’t work well. Breakfast was good but not many options, and portions were small but overall a good experience/deal for the price paid. Other the. That I would say excellent service

Merida is a wonderful place, but Hotel Maria Jose made it even easier to enjoy. They provided everything we needed while we were there. It is located just one block away from the main area of Centro Historico, and this ended up giving just the right mix of privacy while still giving us the ability to walk to anywhere we wanted to go. My family and I don't speak Spanish that well, but the staff was patient and accommodating as they helped us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the pool was a great way to relax after a long day in the sun. In addition, they converted our US dollars into pesos, set up taxis for us, gave directions and recommendations, and served a delicious breakfast. Last but not least, we were able to book amazing tours directly through the front desk. All in all, they helped give us a fabulous vacation!

Nice place & fairly close to main square. The pool was nice & they provided pool towels. They didn't do lunch or dinner even tho the QR code in the room said they did. Breakfast was a separate menu as it was an included rate & it was fine but maybe at least one of the waiting staff could be a little happier.... The room was nice, large & fine for the money & I would stay again

I love the fact that this hotel is close to a lot of the major attractions in downtown Merida. If you seek a full cultural immersion experience with the ability to walk to some of the best sights, parks, events, restaurants, and shops, staying at Maria Jose is a great choice! I will definitely stay here again when I return to Merida!

The location was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. An earlier check-in would be nice although it was helpful that they stored our luggage until we could check-in. It would be helpful to have a mini-fridge and/or a coffee maker in the room.

Located on a nondescript street, this charming hotel is close to everything but away from the bustle. The staff was helpful and an issue with a broken lock was dealt with promptly. We had a ground floor suite away from the street- it was cool and fairly quiet.

I really like the location of this hotel. However,the walls are thin & I would wake up to people laughing and talking 7:00 in the morning. The internet is unreliable and goes in & out. It didn’t work at all my last last & hadn’t come back on by the next afternoon.

Had no problems with anything while I was there. My room was basic, good bed, quiet and clean. Beautiful pool. Everything was super clean throughout the hotel. Very good restaurant for breakfast. The staff was very helpful.

30 youth soccer players, run up and down stairs yelling screaming, over 20 of them in pool at night yelling and screaming no respect and employees allowed it this went on for 3 days when I had enough and told the clerk to please do something, nothing was done since the running, screaming went on til 11 pm. Absolutely no regard for person rest. Shower run nothing but hot water. Place might of been nice 4 years ago, but new management. Use to have wonderful breakfast buffet, now they bring cold chips and call it a meal, really has gone down hill, last time I will ever stay at this place.

The perfect hotel stay.
This comfortable, clean and conveniently located hotel is just perfect, it has its own excellent restaurant, it’s very clean, all the staff are friendly and helpful. It may be a 3star hotel but I give it 100%+ at that level. You can’t go wrong with this hotel.

I stayed because of Jorge! Great guy! it's not a 9.0 place but good for the money. Some rooms have a mildew smell. Ask to change. Aircons work. 2nd floor is hot. Not too loud overall. Really nice people working here. Convenient to downtown.

This is my second time at this place, a lot of options at walking distance to eat, my nephew joined a field trip with an small group, he had fun, the transportation pick it up him at the hotel and dropped him back. I highly will recommend, my niece recommended the place to me, I been recommending to my friends and other family members.
