“Best location for the convention center”
Location, Hotel, Room very much updated, bathrooms need upgrading. Overall good location and excellent value for money.
“Jr. Suite”
The staff was very nice, and for some reason I was up graded to a Jr. Suite. I was headed on a cruise the next morning however I sleep with 100 bed bugs, my body was covered all over with bites, it was not a good look ouch.
“The hotel was ok, I would return.”
I feel that the continental breakfast was bit costly.
“Miami Beach Hotel with NO beach!!”
I was a little upset the moment I noticed that this hotel wasn't on the beach. I looked up waterfront properties on Expedia and the Dorchester was listed. Once I looked through the ameneties I was sure this was the perfect place to stay. When we arrived I was told that I was wrong for assuming they were on the beach and that they did have a sister hotel that was on the beach across the street. I was sent over to look at a room so that if we wanted to change hotels we could. But upon arriving at the Marsielles Hotel they had us waiting at the front desk for 30mins and then looked at us with a wierd look on their faces and said "Oh there's only one room available with a kingsize bed", that wasn't going to work since I was there with a family memeber. They didn't try to help us at all. The whole purpose of this trip was to be on the beach. I don't blame the hotel for this error but they shouldn't told us we could move to the sister hotel and send us there if they couldn't do it... Other than that the Dorchester Hotel was nice. I think it's ridiculus that one has to pay $30 a day to park a rental in the hotel that you are already paying to stay in. They also don't include any other little things like continental breakfast, which by the way is horrible..
“Old hotel , very basic, needs renovation !”
the hotel managment was very friendly but the rooms were outdated, the toilet and the safe didn't work.
“First trip to miami.”
It was my boyfriend and I first trip to miami. Staying at the dorchester was really nice. The room was really nice. Breakfast was good. It was right across the street from the beach and walking distance from the lincoln street mall, so the location was perfect for us. The ambiance of the hotels courtyard was really nice in the evening. You could just relax outside by the bar or pool. We would definantly stay here again! The only down side to our trip was the parking. Be prepared to spend at least $25-40 a day on parking your car. The hotels price was $30/a day.
“Great hotel for a resonable price in South Beach.”
This was our first stay in south beach, and I have to say that I was a little sketchy about staying here after reading some of the other reviews on several sites. But the Dorchester pulled through with flying colors. Yes its an old building, but so are most of the hotels on SB. Thats what gives it its charm and character! The staff was amazing, and very helpful. We had so much fun w/ the Bartender Aseph! He really made our stay great with is great drinks and fun personality. Overall we had a very clean room w/ a really cold a/c, and the staff was as nice as can be. Would stay again!
“Close to everything! Perfect location!”
This was my first stay at the Dorchester and I could not be more thrilled with my experience there. The hotel is very cute and deco, rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is less than 5 min from Lincoln Rd and is at the heart of the "good part" of Collins Ave. Staff was super friendly. I would skip eating breakfast at this hotel though. Over-priced for the poor quality (plus, it was just plain gross). Instead I would recommend you walk down to Maxine's/Catalina's for breakfast (one block away). Price and quality is much better there, plus the food is delicious! We will definitely be staying at the Dorchester again next time!
“Worst Experience”
We arrived Saturday night and checked in to room 257. A swarm of mosquitoes and a cockroach was waiting in the bedroom. The toilet didn't flush properly. There was hair on the towels. We requested a room change, but was denied since all the other rooms were booked. The hotel staff was quite rude, and was more worried about his being there alone than our room safety and cleanliness. I asked to speak with a manager, who wouldn't be at the hotel until the next day. We got a call around 4:00 in the morning saying there was another room available since another patron did not check in. We moved our luggage into room 261, with a king bed instead of two doubles. By this time it was late and we just wanted to sleep in a clean room. We moved again the next day, to 152. The rest of the trip was uneventful in terms of rodents and such, but the first night experience was so horrendous that we just kept waiting for more bad things to happen. Never again.
“Great location”
If you want a great location and friendly staff, here it is. the room was clean and quiet, the staff was very helpful and pleasant. we had very comfortable and convenient beach access at the sister hotel walking distance away. i would definately reccommend and would stay here again
