“If you like Vintage”
They offer Valet parking for $25 a day plus tax. It's worth it because you have to pay for parking in this area. I was confused at first because the parking space in front of the hotel is a loading zone. I think its worth it. You get expired yogurt and small bagels for the continental breakfast. It's walking distance to beach. The rooms are good enough to get a good night sleep. Thin walls, you can here in the next room. The hallways smell like cigarette smoke even though smoking is not allowed in rooms.
“I booked a double bed room and received a 1 bed room”
By the second time of booking in this same hotel, I had problems. I booked 2 rooms in South Beach Plaza Hotel and the reception clerk (Sebastian) tried to give me rooms in the South Beach Plaza Villas (there's no elevators in this one). The second problem: I booked 2 double bed rooms and the reception clerk (Sebastian) gave me 2 single bed rooms. Mr Sebastian said that woul solve the problem until midnight, but he didn't. He said to my friend sleep in the sofa, but sofa is not a bed. I am really unsatisfied.
“great location”
I would return for the price and location! South Beach hotel are all old and I am pretty sure all have thin walls. I was suprised by the thin walls allowed us to hear the guest next to us use the bathroom, the black hole cut out the shower for ventilation and the water pressure was so poor we had to use a bucket to rinse our hair and body. Although this is a great location, rooms are clean, breakfast was decent. I had the ability to return to the hotel after a trip to the Keys and the next room still had thin walls, but I was happy to find a shower with great water pressure and a white cover over the vent in the shower-rather then a black screen. Overall for the price and location I would return.
“I have stayed in better”
I guess you get what you pay for. I wanted a hotel that did not cost much and boy did I get it. The walls were paper thin, and you could hear all the noise in the hall and the rooms on both side of you. When I asked for a Central Taxi Cab, I was refused and they would only get a Yellow Cab for me. Hard mattresses and could not controll the air conditioning in the room, it just ran all night. never again
“Great trip to Miami Beach”
This hotel is equivalent to the majority of hotels in the neighborhood. Service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Even though room had minimal amenities and was small, it was clean and air conditioning worked. I would definitely stay again for the price. The location was excellent and within walking distance to the beach. The only inconvenience was the parking; there is none. You need to pay for valet service to save time and effort. But the valet service was efficient. I highly recommend this hotel.
“SOUTH BEACH PLAZA HOTEL REVIEW”
FAIR OVER, KEPT CLEAN , BUT OLD INFRASTRUCTURE!!!!
“better than not bad”
The staff was outstanding...from the doormen to the manager behind the desk...always friendly and accomodating. The bathroom was nice, flooring in the room was laminated...it didn't all fit snug and there was sagging in the floor (room 215) going into the bathroom, but the rest was fine. It's not The Ritz, but 3 nights here was less than one night at The Ritz. We got a good price and felt we got more room and service than we paid for. One block to the beach...could not beat it.
“It rained in our room”
The hotel service was good with the exception of two guys behind the front desk who where just plain rude all the time. The 2 guys I'm speaking of were Hispanic and they acted as if it was an inconvenience anytime I spoke with them. The other concierges were pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was built in 1936 and the renovations look nice, but I would question the condition of the hotel. Even though everything was in place, we wondered if anything had really been cleaned with a cleaning agent or simply wiped down and the bed made up with dirty sheets. We awoke to water coming in from the window and from the floor above us too. The funky water dripped down the blinds, soaked the curtains, seeped into the air conditioner, and made a puddle on the floor. If a towel wasn't there, the puddle would creep out from the wall about 5 feet and warped the floor boards. The first night my clothes and bags got wet. The guy at the front desk was unconcerned when I told him until the bellboy was upset when he asked me what happened. The the front desk man asked for my clothes to have them cleaned and returned to me that night. The other rude guy worked that night and said he would call me when they were ready. We never got a call and the next day they asked why didn't we get our clothes because they were there all night and we told them that the guy said they weren't there. They didn't even offer us a new room and it was obvious they knew that raining in the room was a regular problem.
“A jewelry at SB”
Really I spent a short but funny day at South Beach enjoying the Hotel and the area. Clean room, good hotel location and great service.
