Excellent stay, gorgeous area. The difficulty is that staff does not inform that gate at the lower parking lot is closed and that guests have to walk up to the castle with their luggage. Staff does not inform guests that there is a golf cart available for transportation. Staff is not ready with golf cart upon check-out. Staff is not yet trained on making check-in and -out convenient for guests with luggage.

Very nice hotel, the hotel stuff makes big effort to please the guest. Only problem is some of the apartments do not have air conditioning and it could get very uncomfortably hot. The breakfast is high quality and delicious.

Amazing
Went for local MotoGP at Misano. Didn’t have breakfast on first day but did on second. Really good selection. Hotel was amazing. Issues were with parking. You can’t park near castle so we drove up. Emptied bags and parked and walked back to hotel. Car was safe on road. No issues. Room was amazing. Used pool after long day at race track and was refreshing as was hot race weekend. Highly recommend

It was hard to find the entrance even with GPS. We were expecting a health spa and it wasn't exactly it. The place is up the mountain (with a beautiful view) and not alot of things near by.

Charming as only a country inn in Italy can be
Charming place. I was here for a family wedding. I had a bad bout of bronchitis and they even drove me to the pharmacy to get medication. I stayed in the main palazzo, which is ancient, so the bathroom was dated but still very comfortable. Breakfast spread was fabulous and the little bar down the road adorable.

The photo of this building does not do justice to the beauty of the property. We did not stay in this building, but some of my family stated in the 'castle' and we stayed in another building on the property. The property is part of a perfectly restored medieval village on top of a hill. It is spectacular! The hotel restaurant is on a terrace, overlooking the hills and valley below. Fantastic food, perfect service. Overall, a treasure!

Wonderful views
The renovation of the whole citadel is excellent and a joy to wonder round with stunning views down to the coast We arrived on a Monday to find both restaurants were closed! We ended up in the tratatorie just outside gates & had a great night Easy parking but best not take car to reception address (following sat nav) as streets are very narrow Tge hotel rooms are spread out of a wide area with some steep paths so a reasonable amount of fitness required

Far from the maddening crowd...
The site of the hotel is unique: high in the hills, a mini-, walled medieval town has been converted into a unique sort hotel. We were there off-season so many of the activities on the site, such as the pool, were not available (only one restaurant was open). we were given a suite with plenty of space. Montegridolfo is also known for its strategic position during WW2 and there is a small museum underneath the town. The area is Very beautiful, not far from Urbino and Pesaro, which we enjoyed and visited. A good trattoria is below the "city." The place is isolated, but special.

Marvelous, comfortable and utterly Italian!
The hotel is set within a well preserved and exquisitely situated Medieval city. The room was beautiful, the pool delicious and the staff delightful. We even drove up to our room through the city gate! You could almost imagine Dante walking about, or Don Quixote (I know, wrong country!) riding in with Sancho Panza behind. Great for fantasy, but not at all Disneyland-ish! Be sure to get very good directions before setting out!

Wonderful place, very charming, friendly staff Every room is different in this little hotel village. We try to stay there every year for a few days on our way to Greece. Tasty breakfast, small restaurants on-site.

Romantic hideaway in the beautiful middle of nowhere
The hotel is more like a cluster of three rows of antic buildings with cobble stone pavement. The place is quite and has a few restaurants on site. This time only one was still open. But there are small restaurants in the surrounding area. I recommend to include breakfast in your stay. No the greatest variety of products but good quality and great coffee (Late, Espresso...). So, if you come to the area of Ancona (e.g. for the ferry boat to Greece), give yourself and your family a break of the everyday hustle for two or three days.

A Castle village with views all around over the valley
The castle village can be seen from far away as we climb the road to the top of the hill. The place is charming and well maintained with little stores and restaurants and cafes offering great local food. It's easy to walk around the place and is quiet with no cars. The staff was very welcoming. I enjoyed the swimming pool and gym / sauna (extra charge for the gym). Internet could be weak from some rooms but it's fine in the lounge which is close to the source. Amazing views on the countryside and the sea in the distance. It's like being in an eagles' nest.

A huge disappointment
On arrival to spend 5 days here in September, we were told we had been 'upgraded', implying that Expedia clients only get the cheaper rooms. Our room had a TV, safe and Wifi which did not work. When we complained, we were moved to better rooms in the main building, but the TV sound was again not working. The swimming pool was dirty and out of action; apparently the pump had broken and was unlikely to be mended in the near future. There was only one restaurant open out of the 4 advertised and this restaurant was closed on our second day. We were given names of 2 restaurants some distance away which were, as we discovered, also closed. We saw only 2 other guests and clearly the hotel had effectively closed for the season. It was like a ghost village and none of the shops was open. The receptionist never apologised, refusing to give us her name as we left after 2 nights. She was also rude in Italian, which she didn't realise we could understand. There are no lifts, no porters and steep stairs to climb which was difficult with our luggage. I have since seen poor similar comments on other sites. Do not waste your money coming to this hotel. We are now fighting to get our money returned even for the 3 nights when we did not stay. I suspect the good ratings on this hotel are bogus, because I cannot imagine anybody being prepared to pay for such a poor service and almost non-existent facilities. It seems to get its money from holding weddings and conferences. Dreadful.
