One of a kind resort

Posted Oct 18, 2014
We just Vacationed here for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the resort and all it had to offer. The tree house style rooms were just what we were looking for... No stacked hotels for us! Smaller resort so didn't have much of a wait, if any, for food and drinks. The beach is across the street but with a bar and grill there as well it was still amazing. Peddlers walked the beach but we're respectful and left you alone of you said no thanks. Little booths set up for shopping if you wanted to walk the coastline. Beautiful property and amazing staff. We will be back. Thank you!

Best Place to stay in Jamaica!

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: staff, food, rooms, atmosphere, pool, beach, beach grill, beach bar, size
Cons: I wouldn't change a thing!
Location: The location is in the casual town of Negril. All sorts of tours, Rick's cafe, shopping, and water sports.
I highly recommend Sunset at the Palms in Negril, Jamaica. My husband and I have stay at this resort four times and will definitely be back. The staff is the greatest staff ever! They recognize us every time we go back and some even remember our names. The resort is gorgeous. You will feel like you are in a beautiful jungle. The tree house- style rooms are great. Between the breakfast buffets, lunch buffets, the grill at the beach ( hey, Opal), and several choices for dinner, you will never go hungry or thirsty! The pool with the swim-up bar and the hot tub are excellent. The beach has a fun relaxing atmosphere with plenty of activities to keep you busy , if you want to be. If you are wanting to spend your vacation at a crowded concrete resort with tons of people, this is not the place for you. If you like your vacation more laid-back and relaxing this is the place! I can't wait until we go back!

Great location with great staff.

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Staff, lodging, food, and nice swim up bar!
Cons: No music at Chef's Table or Lotus Leaf dining and no soothing music at the spa was noticeable.
Location: Didn't mind crossing the road to the beach and the access to sailing and snorkeling was very handy. Horseback riding was a bit of a journey.
Drop dead beautiful grounds and beach but the big plus is all the people who work there. Loletta took care of everything, Kadena made sure all went well, and Craig's the best waiter you could ask for. Highly recommend the Chef's Table and the Lotus Leaf for a dining experience and the Palm Grove buffet any time for casual attire. Beautiful beach with a nice covered bar with cool drinks out of the sun and great jerk chicken and sandwiches at the patio made each day unforgettable. Staff at the beach very friendly and security kept the vendors walking by at bay so you could enjoy the serenity. This was our first SATP visit and won't be our last!

very chill

Posted Oct 2, 2014
We loved the treehouse effect and foliage. The resort was very private and subdued. The food and drinks were great! The beach area was wonderful. We were not happy that the hotel did not offer the exercise classes that it advertised. Not a party scene! Would highly recommend the sailing lessons, although the water sports staff are not personable or encouraging. Also, the hotel does not restock your in room fridge even after I requested it several times.

the hotel is very nice, tented, very comfortable. for a romantic stay. the beach is across the street. There is a buffet open daily where you eat very well, and then two restaurants within the hotel where you must book. open a few days. and do not eat very well in them. the smoking is very ugly, if it rains there is no other place. the people are super nice, funny, the best care !!!

First trip to Jamaica

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: food
Cons: air conditioning, and mosquito controll
Location: bars shopping sightseeing
Don't know where to start so I will tell you something about us. We are somewhat experienced in the caribbean all inclusive thing so we are not experts that know it all nor are we the wide eyed everything is incredible first time outa Nebraska folks. Check in was a 10, fast with the cold towel and tropical drink. The room was a 9 very cool tree house style just like in the pictures, very quiet they are buit in pairs back to back so there is very little noise tranfer room to room. Staff was a 9, very friendly, helpful, all seemed happy you were there, other places we have been would only rate maybe a 5 so the staff really is really good. Beach, 6. Kinda small but not crowded with people at all, 20 or 30 and half of them are pot salesmen they will hound you constantly just stay back from the water a bit , There is an invisible line the beach performers and dope salesmen wont seem to cross. Beach bar 8, beach grill 9 the jerk chicken is yummy. Food was a 9, yes 9. Most all inclusives are tasteless but pretty style. Not here. Hotel main lobby and buffet area 6. Neat rustic look not the marble covered extravaganza of the DR. A/C 5 , needs more quality a/c in dining areas. Pool, nice looking couldnt tell you much about it (they have a beach) swim up bar available. Mosquito fogging needs to be done more they are hungry. Bottom line we enjoyed ourselves very much it is a really good hotel with an exeptional staff, without hesitation we would return.

Had problems, but turned out ok.

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: very short walk to a great beach.
Cons: additional ceiling fans in main dining room and lobby bar.
had to change rooms. first room had air conditioner that didnt stay cold and dripped water on my face. Also had room cards fail. Took maintenance men 2 hours to fix while we were trapped in our hot room. Moved to newer unit and it was much better. Cold air, keys that worked the door. Resort is small. Air conditioning only in your room. Food choices limited but good. Servers pleasant, some more than others. Having a beach bar and grill is the best. Steps away from the water, I believe it is probably the only resort on bloody bay that offers this. Will return when I need to unwind.

Wonderful experience

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: The treehouse cabins The pool and swim-up bar Beach Staff gardens restaurant
Cons: My only request would be that the rooms have more light. It was pretty dim and hard to read and find things in the suitcase.
Location: Within a quick taxi ride into Negril Very close to the private beach
This resort is just beautiful. The setting is intimate and lush, with perfectly manicured tropical gardens all around. The food was excellent, the drinks were strong and staff was more than accommodating. The private beach is just across the road, with a nice path to get there and a private crossing guard makes sure you are safe. The beach is lovely and the bar and grill are perfect.

Nice hotel for a romantic get away

Posted Sep 5, 2014
The hotel architecture is unique, the rooms are simple but clean. The staff is friendly and attentive, the buffet and bar are average. Try to make a reservation for the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised about the upscale quality and the great service compared to the regular buffet. If you like to eat in an AC cooled restaurant this hotel will disappoint. Restaurant as well as the bar area are open air and there are only a few ceiling fans. The beach is on the other side of the main road, which you cross with the help of a guard. Scuba diving possible right off the hotel beach.
