"Why is it every time we visit Oban, there's a violent storm? We'd booked for two nights but on our day of travel Mathew phoned to advise all the roads were either flooded or blocked with landslips. We agreed to try travelling the following day, which we did - it was eventful and with many detours but got there. "Hotel is older style, which is nice but communal areas, main dining room is needed refurb to keep style, but to make facilities plusher for 5 star rating. We stayed hilltop retreats, very nice & more modern. We'll set out for self catering. Overall good stay, a bit expensive for what it was. "
